There's a lot of reasons why you'd want such a unit.

(Now keep in mind I used to sell CB back in the 70's... this isn't exactly the first rodeo.)

When I started driving last winter, I had a choice... I needed a CB but I also needed something to use which I could legally and safely use the phone while driving.

Now, since I only had $150 dollars to spend... and the headsets that looked like they'd work for me in the noisy truck I drive would all run around a hundred bucks by themselves, (And thus eliminating the chance to get a good CB) I decided to get a CB that would serve both purposes. The 29BT does that very well. I wonder of the Galaxy equivalent would work as well, and I suppose it would... I miss having a little echo on the mike. (Oh, well...)

I see the complaints about the lack of loudness of phone calls over the CB speaker... and yes, I've noticed that too, and found the problem was you need to crank the gain on the phone a bit. Here's the thing; I found a lot of folks tend to rank the BT headsets all the way up and control the gain from the phone end... which works OK if all you're doing is BT headsets. Crank the gain on the phone up and viola! no more problems.:biggrin_255:

The Bluetooth range of the thing is a little limited, I've found. For example, if I walk to the back of the trailer, it loses the signal, resulting in a BEEP on the CB when I get back inside it's rangel Past that, it's been wonderful.

One more thing; THe ring tones don't come out too loud on my Palm Pre... leading to missed calls in the pastand the CB solves that issue as well.
