Magnum makes a real nice one that is easy to tilt. having one that the driver is reluctant to tilt costs a lot. Just a thought!

    Magnum1 Thanks this.

I had an AliArc on my western star. Worth every #### penny I paid when it was 2 weeks old I hit the first deer with it. In the end it took on 5 deer, A honda in NYC, and a loveseat in Bridgeport CT

Oddly, I'll be driving to Alaska without a cowplow, but hunting moose there this fall. Hopefully there wont be any irony to report...LOL

I've had 2 of the Magnums, first one got replaced after hitting a moose. It was only cosmetic damage, saved me a lot of damage to the truck and being broken down. I like the Magnum, they drop in seconds, no bolts/pins to unthread. I've hit 2 bears and countless deers.. 5 deers in the last 8 months actually!

I know of a cow hauler in central ND that hit 3 nine hundred pound steers early one morning. did about 16 grand in damage to a 9 month old 379. The insurance company bought him a new aliarc because the old one was totaled.

So hit 3 nine hundred pound steers to make a 16 grand damage ? Well.... some blind truck driver backed his rig till he stopped into my hood (at that time I was without moose bumper) and the damage was 17800$. I have to mention thou that only the hood for a Volvo VT880 is 9700$(no painting).

How much weight did they add?

They say around 400 lbs but removing the original truck bumper they removed 150 lbs, so final weigh added was around 200 - 250 lbs.
I'm always over 12000 lbs on the steering axle but never stopped by DOT.

Herd says they can take a moose hit without need for replacement. I think they're more expensive than AliArc but alot tougher. I know a herd will explode a deer nicely. Hoping to get a Herd for my 379 soon.
