    It's the "day cabs" - Con-way FREIGHT division - that's going to 62 mph.

Haven't heard about the pet policy being done away with.

Thats great! a large # of companies are doing away with the pet policy for company drivers. I know its due to the same lazy people who think parking lot is a garbage can.

Con-Way trucks already do 62. I blow their doors off all the time.

Funny thing is, they turn the trucks down in the name of fuel economy without giving any thought at all to the gearing in the driveline, after they probably ordered the trucks specced to go 65 at the proper engine speed.

Not to mention the people that pull into a pickle park and let their pets do their thing in the same area that I have to walk in to get to the bathroom. Some rest areas even have pet pooping areas set up away from the actual resting area that seems to be to far for the geriatrics to take their dogs, so ignored. And it was never fun at USX having to seat a truck after some team let their mutt chew, scratch, and defecate their way around the truck.

Pets belong at home and not on a truck unless it is your own truck. People around foul smelling pets get used to the smell and think their house or truck does not smell like a zoo when it really does.

US Express is not known for recruiting the best of the industry. (see the post for bad companies to drive for) Alot of drivers do not even know when its time for a shower. Im sure you have had some bad experiences but some people are good pets owners and some are not. Just like some driver know when to shower and some dont.

My husband just left this company 6/23/10 after finishing a 6 month lease. Everything you read in the negative of this company is true, they lease that truck that is bought and paid for only so they can make the money on it, certainly not for you or your family. My husband made his lease payments and everything else they took # $65,000 and he got to keep for home and survival (his wife to live and keep their home) $14,000 for 6 months of driving. He got home once in that 6 month period. They kept their promise; he made money so he could pay them and tidbits for his life. They kept his Safety bonus, "just because," he had to pay 100% for $2300 tune up that he didn't earn himself, he was suppose to earn so many cents per mile for for leasing and they even kept that. There were weeks that his lease was paid and they gave him a (-) amount which was taken the next week. How we survived and didn't end up on the streets is beyond us. So if you think this is the company to work for take a look at all of the messages from everyone and remember it's true. He did his best and this company took total advantage of him and all the other truckers out there. Oh yeah and the owner John he pulls approx $209,000,000 a year. So who's really making the money. Google the dude who owns it and see; I did. "run, run like the wind." He is now with another company and I do hope this is better so far so good and we might get to see each other at least every 2 weeks. Also did you know the government of the past gave them permission to hire 200,000 green card holders, now it's down to 60,000 how un-American is that since 911. Talk about setting our country up; this should be considered treason in the worst form. God Bless our American truckers men and women. :biggrin_25514:

Oh my goodness! And people are surprised when these un-informed nitwits get taken for everything? It'd be like taking candy from a baby.

Rule #1 Do not lease the truck from the same company that you will be driving for.

Rule #2 Do not ignore rule #1. Ever!

If you are single, have no bills and can stay out on the road for a very long time it has been know to work. Very rare though.

Trainers on the lease can make it, but only because the trainees are getting a pittance.
