I'm considering going driving and I'm wondering what you think will be result of the US allowing Mexican trucks into the US?
What do you think about wages?
Thanks

Will be out of school in another 2 weeks, so I cant give opinion of loving driving or not...but the Mexican truck ordeal...I have the suspition that what is now .38 per mile will become .18c per mile. Those "poor immigrants" have the ACLU on their side, perhaps MADD or another organization can come to the aid of US trucking industry in the name of safety...let alone being able to provide for our families.
truckerdave1970 Thanks this. -
There was already a big long post on this issue that was moved to the Private section (I think that's where it went to or was deleted not sure)
I will tell you what I think will happen.
1.Less long loads for America drivers. (less loads all together for American drivers)
2.Pay will eventually fall
3.America truck driver jobs will be lost (but more $10 per hour warehouse jobs will be created)
4.Roads will become even more unsafe then they already are.
5.general public will start having more of a negative attitude toward truck drivers then they already do towards us.
6.Insurance will go up
7.Dot will be worse then what they already are on truckers.
I could go on but I will leave it at that.truckerdave1970 Thanks this. -
we as drivers must stop this these mexican drivers need to be stoped at all cost.cut thier air lines block them in at truck stops delay them with rolling road blocks. We need to do these things so they get the hint they are not welcome in the U.S.A. This is are home and are jobs. Please stand up with me and we will stop them do all you can and we might be able to stop this.I am amember of OOIDA and have talkto them about a week of no freight movement aroung 4th of july.We need to do this ASAP to get every one on board if you have to work slow down do th mimum speed on the road put sings on the back of you truck stating no to mexico trucks get the message out.

I understand your point, but you are going about it with the wrong motive. Follow some of your advice above and you will end up getting yourself and others in trouble. -
Truckerjo,
Agree with what you said above. However, one item would need to be considered:
3.America truck driver jobs will be lost (but more $10 per hour warehouse jobs will be created)
If in addition to driving the loads the Mexican truck company made their drivers responsible for loading, and unloading the materials where the wharehouse wanted them, then would the number of wharehouse jobs increase or decrease? Would the pay of existing wharehouse workers increase or decrease?
Food for thought! -
No, I don't think I'll "stand up" with you. Any moron who would cut another drivers air lines, and then send them down the road that we all drive on and work on is not someone whom I want to stand along side of. In fact, if I spot you cutting the air lines on another truck, or doing any other act of sabotage that would result in an accident somewhere further on down the road, expect to get whacked across the noggin with a 4 pound dead blow hammer. When you awaken, you can reconsider your folly.Bobble, midianlord and TRUCK3R M1KE Thank this. -
you are advocating violence to others. whether it be mexican's today, or canadians tomorrow, it's violence nonetheless. you sir stink in recommending this type of behavior towards others. i say let the border crossing guards do "their thing" and all the local law enforcement people do "thier thing" in keeping our roads safe from ANY vehicle on our roads. or, use your cell phone if you see something wrong. once you take action like you advocate, you become lower than pond scum.........and anything you say after that is no longer considered applicable advice or opinions....
-
Iam all for stopping the Mexican trucker's but not your way.
Violence is not the answer.
Have you ever heard of the saying that when you point a finger at someone you got 5 more pointing back at you? -
trunch1, This isn't a place where I want to come to and read what the other driver calls violance against others. I come here for sound advice or opinions and quite honestly I am appaled that you were allowed to say you want to do bad things towards others. This disturbs me to no end.
