I filled out an online application with C.R. England, received a phone call from a recruiter telling me how they are interested in me being a part of there team. They told me I would half to take a refresher program with there company valued at 500 dollars they take out 50/60 bucks a week out of the pay. with an additional 100 dollars paid up front.
I ask the recruiter if i could go to place I received my cdl training at, for they offered free refresher program to there students. The recruiter said no, for CRE wouldn't know if I can drive "there way". I said I could provide you with the number of the school and they could try to arrange my refresher with them around your requirements and the recruiter wasn't for it.
I am new to the trucking world and didn't know anything about CRE, I recently just came across this website, been doing my homework about CRE and it seems that gamble is to risky to take.
I am currently out of work, I will keep my eyes open for other trucking jobs, I was hoping that England would be the place to get my foot in the door, but it seems like they are an outfit I wouldn't want to invest my time in.

Save your money. Any legitimate training company will accept your refresher course if it's done in compliance with accepted standards. The recruiter should be willing to contact the school on your behalf and verify the course.
Go talk with your school about it. They probably have a placement department that should be willing to help you be placed and will take care of any requirements with that trucking company, then come back to you with absolute facts.
Don't trust a trucking company that says, "we don't know if they do it our way..."
sure they do. They're just lying to you to suck you into a scam.Toro Thanks this. -
That is because their way is to gouge you from the get go. Have you get fed up after all the stupid stuff or starve you to death so they can hit you up even harder for bailing. If they pull it off right they will get you for the refresher and bailing on a lease...

Very true, CRE seems like the cards are stack against you, from the get go, I keep rereading these testimonies about CRE I guess its wishful thinking that some one can beat the odds, some one that was able to hop on work for 6 months to a yr as a company driver and get out with very little scars.
In heart I am was hoping that CRE is was do able I've been out of work and the idea of here is the only company knocking at the door and in fantasy if I was able to achieve 6 months to a year with them I would be in pretty good shape, but reading all of these threads it appears that cre if anything hinders one from achieving and puts ems in further debt before they started out.
Right now driving would be great, but a job is a job and if I come across anything dock work, construction, factory I'll take it.
It would have been great to get a chance to use my cdl, but if it means dealing with companies like cre than I don't think that is a headache I want to take on.

Does anyone know what the rule of thumb is for gain haulers with the hopper trailers, dump? what kind of experience they want? is 6 months to a year pretty much the rule of thumb?

I have been in these forums for about 3 weeks or so and have yet seen more than three legit positive posts about CR England...HOW THE HELL are they still in bussiness? I mean maybe im missing something, i am new to the trucker bussiness, but in my old trade, if there was a company like this they would go under fast.

Because there is a long line of desperate people who think they have no other options. This seems to be the fastest way for them to get into trucking. For many it is a fast way to get out of trucking...
-
Yea i guess, just goes to show how many people out here really dont do any type of research before jumping into something new...and in my opinion a new career is definetly something you should do research on before jumping into....

The odds are stacked against a new driver anyway. Pick the wrong co to start with and the odds go up...

Well, I have gotton lucky I am not going to roll the dice with cre, but landed a laborer job for now so all's good
