Sorry, we're a little past halfway in training miles for my trainee...
I double checked with my FM, but you can upgrade at 60k... Company or lease... The only reason now to stick with a trainer for 80k is just get to that first pay raise a bit quicker. -
I have some $$ saved up for my trip to SPRIMO. When I finally go to Orientation I am going to fly and not take the Greyhound. Also I know the $200 is only for helping you out on the road and will be paid back when you are eventually hired.
-
..hey pigfarmer, any idea why ur trainer quit?
-
Curious, Why did you give them $150. for orentation?
-
No one "gives" $150 for orientation. Student drivers who are going to Prime for CDL instructions need to bring $150 to cover the cost of a DOT physical and the CDL permit. Just the same as at any driving school.
-

Good post as that is being forgotten. The money up front is for CDL Permit, physical etc & other company sponsored schools DO NOT cover meals & lodging & you pay for that or borrow at 18% or more interest to cover lodging (and it is the companies lodging with 2 to 6 people in a room/so-called suite) besides the schooling. Then you share a truck with 4 drivers to 1 instructor while in school. Which is OK.
Then you have to stay from 1 year to 3 Years to payback & so much is taken from your pay to cover the training & then Tuition assistance pays in some money. Schools range from 4K to 9.5K in value (Company Value payback) plus interest. Another way those companies make money on the students.
Happy that you are doing well & Thanks for the post as it helped me.

I should be going back to Prime in semt. I am going to be runnin a team over there with a freind once I am done with my training. Anybody know how hard these simulators are? I have never used one and thats whats going to determine how long I need to go back out with a trainer. Also is there any trainers out there that are going to be in need of a trainee around then? PM me with any questions please.
