do they quiz at orientation on anything like math or log books or anything like that? i had to take a trucker math course in the community college and was just wondering if they are going to test you to see if you know it. as far as log books, i know the basic jist of it, but i figured being out with the trainer will break me in on that as well! i thought i'd ask so i can be freshening up on it. if not, i guess i just need to concentrate on the road test..??

 

You will have a test on routing and trip planning, fuel stop etc.

 

what all do you have to know about the fuel stop..alls i can say is you pull up between duel pumps and fill both tanks up? i'm not really the best atlas reader just yet, but i can figure it out! i'm sure the trainer could help out alot with that as well! hopefully. i just dont want to get sent home for something stupid!

no but if i read it right ive been aproved no call or dates set.

 

it shouldnt be too long then. i had to wait almost two weeks after i got approved! good luck!

 

you know who your trainer is or any of that stuff ?

 

not yet! my recruiter told me to make sure when you do your road test to go 10 miles below the speed limit. she said a one guy got sent home for doing 1 mile an hour over!! and a couple of guys got sent home last week, because they were drinking beer in their hotel rooms! so , yea, that was pretty stupid! all i know so far is you have orientation for a week, then another week for load securement training. sometimes your trainer doesnt get there and you might have to do another week of securement training, but , you get paid for it..

 

Question for new guys! I'm planning to start CDL school on Aug 9th. Should graduate on the 30th or 31st. How soon should I apply at Maverick? I would like to start orintation on Sept 5th that way it goes straight out of school to orientation? What kind of time line should I use? Thanks in advance for reply's!
