OK. A while back another poster either hoosier hunter or ridge said you would never make it. I agreed. The reason was on here you was talking to much always saying something about what you have known or did. That was the first red flag. You PMed me wanting to know why I did not think you would make it.

Maverick gives you all the info you need to pass. What they don't want to hear is how you do something or how some other co does something. I thought your problem would be keeping quiet. It is not a meeting to brainstorm or come up with ways to do stuff. Mav has their ways. They tell you what it is and listen to see if you listen and follow instruction.

Just look in the quote above how many times you told, asked or explained or made comment in just a few paragraphs. I could only imagine how many times you do this in a day. Bottom line is you are not what they was looking for. You did not make the cut.

There is a lot to flatbedding. You have to know what to put where and when and how to secure it or people die. It is hot work, cold work, dirty work etc. If they sense that someone is not going to make it down the road it is cost effective to not send them out and invest any more time in them than they already have.

In my opinion had you just kept quiet and not talked so much you might have slipped through. I had a feeling this was going to be a problem for you. So did another maverick driver on here. This may seem harsh, but sometimes you need to know when to be quiet. They are not looking to gain your ways and thoughts. They are trying to teach you theirs.

Now since you did not make the cut, now they are a bad co and you are advising people to go elsewhere. Funny how I picked up on your problem from a board. Imagine how much detail they can get from you when you are under full observation. You talked your way out of a job.

Ridgerunner, I knew this guy wasn't going to make it before he ever went to orientation.
He is one of those people that is never wrong and nothing is ever his fault.

You are so absolutely WRONG!!! If I don't know something, I ask. If I'm not sure about something, I inquire, If I am wrong, I'll Admit it.

Yes, There are times when I talk to much, I admit that. But it is usually so as to try & either find out information, understand as to what is being said or done, or to share an experiance that I had. I've never been one to just join up with a lot of foks to just stand around & flap the wind. What a waste of time, not to mention, gossip is just that, gossip.

When it comes to folks wondering as to weather or not to go to maverick, All I am saying is that based upon my own expeiance, if you don't know a thing about flat bedding, this is not the place to learn, no matter how bad you want it. They down right refuse to actually teach & help you to actually learn, "UNLESS YOU FIT INTO THEIR CLICK". either you do, or you don't. & I guess I obviously didn't & that's fine as I did walk away with the knowledge they have already given me, had already made copies of load securements & tarping procedures, so, if & when I can find a flat beddign position, I can then take those skills with me in hopes to make me a far better & safer driver, not just another steering whell holder.

    THD,
Wow your posts today came as a shock. I have learned a few things from your posts. Are you gonna try another company now? Staying with flatbedding? I do wish you the best of luck. I know this is what you really want to do.

ok, now i'm pondering something once again!! THD said that if you dont have experience with flatbed, dont go to maverick. well i dont have any experience, but i've been watching quite a few videos on youtube and what not on tarp folding, etc.. i'm one who really tries to pay attention, and usually you wont hear a word out of me unless you ask me something lol. i hope that doesnt effect my chance of making "the cut"!!

Don't listen to anything THD has to say. He has a very biased opinion. Maverick is just like most jobs. You get out of it what you put into it.

Sounds like a lot of you "know it alls" are taking a two-bit job with a two-bit company way to seriously.
I'm so tired of all this BS about how Maverick is this "premier" outfit. They are just another flatbed outfit. Nothing more, nothing less. One of you said you were averaging "500 to 600" per week. Woopee.
I'm so sick of hearing about "the Maverick way". Pulling a flatbed is not rocket science. After you learn how to chain and strap the load, it is what it is. Yes it is hard work, dealing with the weather elements, etc.
There just isn't enough money in trucking. You don't get paid for half the work you do. But I guess that is all part of "the Maverick way", LOL!
And no I've never worked for them, I don't live in Tenn. or Kentucky, or wherever they operate.
