My trucking adventure begins, started school today.

Sounds good BBB1! Glad to hear that you are living in the lap of luxury in that Freightliner. I, on the other hand, am sharing quarters with my Swift mentor. He's a great guy and we are managing well with this limited space.

Not bad for 3 days work! I'm working 7 days/week for a whopping $450. Starting next week, I get a $50/week raise. Then, after 2 weeks of that, I start out at a whopping $0.25/mile. Not really complaining, just funnin' a bit. I knew what the deal was before I signed on with Swift.

I'll be in MS briefly tommorrow. Delivering 20 tons of flour to a baking company in Pelahatchie. That'll be twice in the last month we've blown thru The Magnolia State.

94nole are you back with WSE? I have been reading your posts with a great deal of interest. I got my approval today from David Murphy. They are sending me to Central Tech in Drumwright OK for school. This is something I have always wanted to do also. Taking a huge cut in pay but at age 56 it is now or never! lol

 

I am signed up with Foodlink Truck Driving School in Sacramento, CA and was wondering if anyone has any feedback to pass on. I really think this is the way for me to go as I do have the time do to the 18 week course and the theroy behind there way of being compensated for there time in training you seems comendable and fair. What I'm concerned about is the creditability of there schooling and how the trucking industry feels about their graduates. What are the chances of landing a good paying job being a graduate from Foodlink vs. some other accredited trucking school? Any and all info will be greatly appriciated. Thank you
