2 years experience and 23 is their requirement, if you attend a school and drive for a year or so I think they will consider you, but if you get that solid 2 years in and keep a clean record it bodes well for you in the future. Let me say this to you or anyone else reading this, I WORK for my money, just because I'm local doesn't mean that I go in at 7 and get off by 5, I'm in my truck and rolling by 1am, and I bump my 14 hour clock every day, I've set up my daycab with a coleman cooler between the seat and a ton of pillows so I can set up a bed and catch a nap when time allows, the local jobs at Prichett are nice in the fact that we get home every night, but I don't want to lead anyone on and get you thinking this an easy job, it takes a certain mentality to be successful over here, I work the way I do because my wife and I seek to live a better life, I chose the road less traveled in life and knew it would be a struggle to be successful in what I do, but with the right mentality and work ethic, plus an awesome wife who gets up with me every morning and makes my coffee, plus my lunch, it allows me to accomplish my goals and move forward towards a bit of financial security, and a sense of pride in what I do.

He's an interesting guy, definately old school values which you don't see much of anymore. We're not the biggest company out here, but we do run 300 or so trucks and it's nice when the people in the main office know you by name, just something you don't see too often.

Wow............Busy season is back upon us in Tallahassee. College is fixing to get back in to session as well as all the public schools so the trash is flowing which results in nice paychecks and steady weeks. I have been with Pritchett nearly 3 years and this week I was able to achieve a first, $910 dollars gross, I busted my butt for this but am #### sure proud of the achievement. I always average within 50 dollars or so week to week, typically 800-850, but this was the first time I've ever been able to gross this amount. Believe me it's not something that comes easy though, I have had very long days this week, infact just a long week in general but I can say that I'm proud of what I was able to accomplish and have to pat myself on the back after a performance like this. If I can keep my averages up I hope to be able to achieve Top Ten driver status with Pritchett, I have yet to be able to do so but I'm on par for it this year, I take a pride in this job so this would be icing on the cake, not only do we receive a bonus and white uniforms, but the knowledge of knowing that I was recognized for all my hardwork would be something to definately be proud of, here's hoping........

Still busy, busy, busy........College officially fires up Monday, in Tallahassee alone we have FSU, FAMU, Tallahassee Community College, and Lively Technical Institute, between those four schools I would say we add nearly 100,000 students and you know college kids can make some trash:) I posted a few weeks back about my earnings, as you all know they stay pretty consistent but I was able to one up myself this week, $925 dollars gross and 2,857 miles all in a day cab. Any drivers living in Florida that read this thread and live north of Wildwood and are possibly looking for work might want to check in with us, business is picking up slowly but surely, times are still rough in the wood and aggregate industries but being as large as we are makes us able to pick up some of the bigger jobs around central and north Florida. If anyone has any questions let me know, like I've said in the past my earnings aren't quite the typical company wide earnings, me and my fellow drivers up here in T-Town have it pretty good, and I've got a few other runs outside of trash that allow me to boost my earning potential, but if you're willing to work and put in some hours it might be worth your while to check in to it. We're mostly a local company, but do have 50 or so trucks that travel out of state staying out between 1 and 2 weeks at a time. Hopefully my posts are still interesting to those reading, I do my best to keep it factual and to the point.

I ran out of state for them when I lived down there, I pulled a frameless dump trailer hauling aggregate, steel, feed and stuff like that. The money was not quite as good as what I make here but the work was easier as far as hours were concerned. In all honesty Inverness was just a bad move financially for my wife and I, I worked for Pritchett in Tallahassee in '08 then moved down to Inverness in '09, and returned to Tallahassee in August of '09 when an opening came back up. I've been employed with Pritchett through all of this, we had a refuse transfer station in Ocala but lost the contract to C&W around March of last year. So before I ramble on too much to answer your question they will hire you out of Inverness but most likely for out of state runs, if you're looking for local you might try C&W I saw they had an add on craigslist for local drivers in Ocala, I can only imagine it was for the refuse operation they got from us, they haul the trash to Valdosta and backhaul woodchips or whatever they can get to avoid deadheading back to Ocala. Any other questions feel free to ask.

Hello TT, I live in thomasville, ga. Just up the road from you. My eyes are bugging from reading all 7 pages of this post. I have applied with pritchett a week and a half ago for a position in my area. Have emailed back and forth with mr.crews and now all of a sudden I can't get any answer if they are considering me or not. I feel that I am more than qualified. My question to you is, how long did it take from the day of application till you were hired? Is my situation normal? I don't want to seem rude and call him, but I also don't want to let this go. I too really like Pritchett and want to work for them pretty seriously. Maybe you can pull some strings, and I can buy you a cup of coffee! Thanks! T.T. Jr.
