    Ah, yeah. You're certifiable. But then again, we all are.

    The first time some white guy told an indian that a life of "driving a truck (wagon and team back then) and running heavy equipment, doing mostly heavy labor such as shoveling tons of limestone fines and chipping out chutes underneath crushers, etc. in 100* heat" was preferable to a life of hunting, fishing and chasing women (who do all the heavy work) - and was sincere about it...

    They shoulda locked us up, and thrown away the key! :biggrin_2559:

    LOL, true story. People call me crazy because I enjoy driving truck, this job just made me realize how much more I like doing it compared to anything else.

    Walleye, there is and there isnt. Were non-union but seniority rules, theres 5 jobs there that are "better" full time high-lift operator's underground and above ground, Blaster, and full time haul out driver. Seeing as how I'm low man on the totem pole, I bounce around and do a little bit of everything and end up with alot of laboring.

    As long as seniority rules,..Why not stick it out until you have your time in and can move up??,........If you move into a better position does the pay get even better???,.....

    Sometimes it pays to put up with the bs when you start out,...It pays of when you have "whiskers",.....

    No, all pay is the same except for supervisors, most mines around here work like that.

    I started the same way at an above ground crusher. I'd stick with it. Try getting into driving a Euc or something else. I got to where I enjoyed Ammonium Nitrate. Had I stuck with it, I would have been there 30 in 2009 and could have retired. But I quit and went back to trucking.

    Give a chance, at least you're working.

    ME TOO!:biggrin_25524::biggrin_25524::biggrin_25525:

    Three words to live by when driving, "Easy does it." Now you know how to drive on ice and snow, right? When you are taking that road test, make believe you are doing it on ice and snow. But try to LOOK relaxed.

    The thing is that anytime you start a new job you are low man on the totem pole. The only way that will change is if you stick around long enough for attrition to take it's tole on everyone else!

    There are not a whole lot of things in life that I have always wanted to do, that I haven't done. But driving one of those big Euclids is one of them!:yes2557:

    some times more money is not the answer, I found out being happy is ok if its a few bucks less then somewhere else, test drive... just drive.....like u should zone out the tester to a point to listen to him if he speaks.. sounds like u know what to do

    There is a saying about climbing the ladder of sucess:

    Those at the top look down and see smiling faces as they climb up but those at the bottom only see arses and the view never changes! There is always an arse over you!
