Or delivering to grocery stores. When you bump 17 docks a day, you get really good at backing.

Plus they're usually tight driveways and docks.
What gets me is that a lot of companies won't hire guys into OTR positions even if they have years of local experience. The local guys are the ones with the skills, IMHO. -
They want the homeless ones who will move into their trucks for months at a time.They know if you have been working local that you probably have a domicile that you will want to see regularly.

I used to run local. I gave it up to go back to college. After my year in college most of the jobs dried up, I took back to OTR again. Only this time I don't have a wife or household to support. I'm really looking forward to heading into Canada.

I believe it. Interesting, where their priorities lie.

The Southern States have less experience than Northern States in clearing Ice and Snow, so when you get a sheet of ice on the roads in Georgia, you will have a tougher time...IMO. I lived in Atlanta for about 10 years and when Ice storms came, you were pretty much stuck until it warmed up.
