Just asking does TMC let you bring home your truck becuase I live in Maquoketa and thats about 4 hours from the terminal becuase i'v read they do but most likely you will have a load and they don't let you unhook from the trailer so I was wonder if they would let you just take the tractor home for the weekend?

It is TMC policy that you never drop your trailer, And yes you go home with the load for delivery

I am trying to make an informed decision on weather or not to appy at TMC. I have 10 years driving experience with dump trucks / trailers, tank, hopper, flat, rgn, landoll, oversied etc. work for a farmer who has his hands into everything but benifits. I am just curious about the basics .... pay, home time, benifits, etc. I see the do have an specialized division hauling john deere products, do you have to be there for a certian period of time before they let you haul that stuff? Any viable information would be greatly appreciated! Thanks for your time

I have only been with TMC for a short time but I will try to answer your questions to the best of my ability.
Pay - you can go either mileage or percentage. I think mileage starts out at .30 cpm but could be wrong. Percentage starts at 23%, but can easily be increased to 27-29% very easily.
Home Time - They guarantee 46 out of 52 weekends at home. Keep in mind that a "weekend" will typically be a 34 hour reset.
Benefits - Seem on par with everything else out there.
Specialized Division - I think 2 years with TMC is required before you can go that route.

Believe very little that you read on this forum about TMC. I have found that most of the stuff written is from people who couldn't hack the work or TMC turned away for whatever reason. If your really curious, give them a shot and find out for yourself. For me, there is no other place I would want to go.

    Hope this helps.
