GypsyWillowDusk72 : How is the equipment rolling with SNI? As a team is SNI keeping you rolling day and night or is there a long wait between loads? Thanks and God bless...

We are in a 2010 Volvo. Maintenance keeps on top of things. In fact I had a DOT road side inspection in Texas and the officer said every time he pulls a Schneider truck over he can't ever find any violations. And I passed as well. Schneider knows how to run teams. We get another load assignment before we empty out on the current run. Most time we spent waiting for a long was over night in Texas. We got some short runs like 590 but they were drop and hooks to be done in 10 hours which helps build up the miles. In fact the week we had two short runs like that we ended up for the week 6500 miles. We are very satisfied with how things are going. As you can see I'm not on here often and that's because we are always running.Last edited: Jul 31, 2010

Well, we had a situation in Ma. I dropped a trailer and went to hook to a return load. I lined up the tractor to the trailer, got out to look and it looked good. I backed and low and behold the kingpin went over the fifth wheel. I called maintenance and they sent out a tow also talked to maintenance. By the time the tow truck came out he noticed that our air bags were depleted and asked if we dumped them. Well Schneider doesn't have air bags that can be manually dumped so he said that could be a reason I high hooked. All I kept thinking was I was going to be fired (got fired from Roehl for needing a tow). The tow guy said since the bags were depleted he thought we could pull out from under the trailer and we did. I talked to my DBL the next day and explained exactly what happened and what I did. He took a report and read back to me what he recorded. (Something Roehl didn't). He talked to maintenance and was told that yes it could happen. We went to Gary OC and they checked it out and found an air leak in the engine area and also a bad air release valve. It was determined it wasn't my fault. I was so relieved. I am happy that Schneider just doesn't say Driver Error. They really investigated it and then made their determination.

I like a happy ending

Hey...I had that happen to me once...I turned the landing up as far as I could to raise the trailer and I was able to pull out from it...and no one was the wiser....
Relax you work for a different company now...

Sometimes, you can take a piece of dunnage and place it under the rear of the fifth wheel tilting the leading edge down, then pull ahead. Don't ask how I know that one!

I'm surprised that you didn't realize the airbags were deflated !!!!!
