So Far I am happy with my 379... I do need to reset my Steers to turn a bit sharper. My old Columbia turned so tight that you had to watch the Side fins on the Trailer. I don't miss it though! Even with the 75 extra horses under the hood.

I have never driven a T800 but I find it hard to believe that it rides better than a W9 or a 379. They are Cadillacs. Isn't there a 30" difference in wheel base? (depending on how speced)

The company I drive for has like fifty T6's and four T8's. The T8's ride a touch better due to the fact they have an 8 bag air ride and the cabs are air as well. The T6's on the other hand were only ordered with 4 bags of suspended air and block mounted cabs. Just sayin when yer comparin... apples to apples kind of thing.
Anyways, I ask the boss why he went with KW's and not cheaper units, he simply replied, "Fuel mileage".

Hmmm...K Dubs are like Goldwings and Petes are like Harleys.....
You ride on top of the Goldwing and sit "inside" the Harley.......

I have owned both.......You get used to whatever you drive except a Shaker or V*lv*....

I couldn't have stated that fact any better! As far as a set back axle riding smoother than a long nose I don't think so.Maybe a cab over rides smoother than a set back?

Is it like the one on a T6? If so, i agree.

Don't have to be a smart ### about it. That's like if i wanted an f250 and you suggested i get a honda civic. Totally different truck. Some people, such as I, like the look of a big hood. Sorry if you're too stupid to realize that not everyone is the same.

And my volvo is a very nice truck, however, there are certain things that just bug the hell out of me with it. Like the ridiculous PTO switch...a picture of an engine and transmission with an arrow pointing down from the trans...when evey other truck just has a switch that says "PTO"......

And i like long noses and its not one. However, it is fast.

I don't think so....I drove both a COE water truck and a COE "Rodder" before....Both rigs rode harder than my old DT 250......

By your own admission, you have never driven a T800, but your mind is already made up.
If you take that Cadillac you call a W9, slide the steer axle back a bit, re-attach it to the frame rails with longer springs, throw a shorter, sloped hood over the motor, move the cab forward a tad, what do you have?
    RIGHT!!!!!, a T800! Very Good!!!! Stay with me now, while I make a couple of more points;
    (1) Longer steer axle springs= better ride.
    (2) Shorter hoods do not affect the ride.

I have no earthly idea where you get a 30" difference in wheel base :biggrin_25513:
Possibly you are referring to the "BBC"? The difference on that, IIRC, is closer to 20",(advantage T8 and doesn't affect the ride that much, especially if you have a sliding fifth.
POINT- When I was truck shopping, the used truck manager at Performance Kenworth in Houston told me that a standard 240" wb T8 would have the same BBC as a standard W900L with a 260" wb
POINT- Arrow Truck sales recently had a group of T8s for sale with a wb of 265", same as my present W9. (No 30" difference)
I've also seen day cab W9s with a shorter wb than some day cab T8s; not a lot, but they are out there.
POINT- Once again referring back to the crude oil company I used to work for, When they switched from the W9s, to the T8s, they also went with a different setup of the frame mounted storage boxes which housed the equipment used in sampling and testing of crude oil.
This required a bit more space behind the cab; more BBC, but still a little less wb than the W9s,

    POINT
    - THE T800s RODE BETTER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
