A friendly hello to all colleagues from Malaga in Spain (Europe)!

I just joined this forum to read and about the real truckers life is lovely US and maybe find a US company to drive for.

I'm 38yo, speaks nativ Danish, fluent English, some/fair German, basic Italian, and learning Spanish & Russian.
I'm married to a lovely & beautiful woman from Moscow and we have a 7yo daughter.
I drive for a Danish company, but spend most of my time in Italy. Most of the loads is flowers, but I also drive food, medicine & explosives (I can drive all HazMat's except Radioactive).
I have been working for the same dispatch since my 1 day as a truck driver and when the the first company I worked for (for 4½ years) went under, I followed the dispatch to his new company! He is a 200% super fair guy and I wish & pray for that all dispatches will be like him (no lies, no bs & agreed is agreed - always home when agreed every single time the last 7 years)!

    Drive on!

Baack and kickin chicken Thank this.

    Welcome!

Well, if you decide you want to drive in the US, you had better bring your dispatcher with you, because there ain't nothing like him here!! :biggrin_25523:

Sad to hear there are no good dispatches on your side of the water, because my dispatch can't follow!

No, my wife is not a spy - I think! :biggrin_2559:
She is only guilty of being a wonderful wife & a super good mother for our 7yo daughter (though she is only 7yo, she already speaks fluently Russian, English & Spanish, best in class in math and dances good enough to preform for 2000 people).

I do watch TopGear sometimes, why?

I saw that there are threads about good and bad companies - what about making threads about good and bad dispatches?

    Baack Thanks this.

Dispatchers - well, I guess the reason there are no threads about them is that they can move around same as truckers do. No point going to work for a company because they have a nice dispatcher, they can leave, and there are no guarantees you would have that particular dispatcher anyay!

There are good and bad same as in everything else, but the one you describe with no lies, no bs, and home time when promised is pretty rare!
Difficult to know how much control they have anyway, they can promise you hometime but then someone else senior in planning or dispatch might have different ideas, so their promise doesn't mean anything.

Just my 2c worth, as a wife who has learned that hometime is only real when he actually gets home!
