Hi, I am currently signed up to start CDL training in August and have many questions about which company I should apply with once my training is completed. If anyone has any suggestions I would appreciate it. I'm looking for a company with decent pay for beginners and guaranteed hometime as I am married with 3 kids. Now I know becoming a truck driver probably isn't the best decision for a family man but like they say, "you gotta do what you gotta do", especially in these harsh economic times. I'm just looking to get my OTR experience so I can come back and get a local job with an LTL company but as you know most places like that want 6 mos. to 1 year of exp. I have read many reports, good and bad about various companies. I was interested in USA and Swift until I recently read some negative reports about how they pay and treat their drivers. Is anyone familiar with H.O. Wolding? And if so , what can you tell me about them? Again any help would be appreciated. Thanks J-rock

Hey and Howdy J-rock! Welcome to the forum. Sounds as if you have already found some info on a few companies, just remember to take what is said with a grain of salt and maybe some pepper too. Again Welcome, Good Luck and Good

Good luck with finding the right school for you. Hopefully you can find one like my husband did. We had been married for 9 years when he went to school and we had 3 small kids. He went to school 4 days a week and then came back home the rest of the week. I worked during his schooling. His schooling was for 4 months. Also check out this thread.
