Poncho or rain coat/suit

Go to Bass Pro Shops, Get the Frog Taugs, Light, comfortable and Simple. Bottoms up to you, I aint trying to swim in it lol

 

hahaha. i have those steel toe rubber boots too. I haul foodgrade so the required ppe is usually a long sleeved shirt, leather gloves, and hard hat..of course, the little red duffle bag they gave everything to us in, the only way everything fits in it is if the boots go in first. But those will end up being the most useful thing in that bag!

You drive for superior, dont you? that's what the trailer in your avatar looks like anyway...

 

I second what Doc said. Get the Frogg Toggs. They are incredible. They shed water like a duck and they are breathable unlike the vinyl rain gear.

 

*Snort!* Yeah...me in a swimsuit. I always did like a good sense of humor.

I like my Carhartt rain jacket it has neoprene wrist cuffs so water cannot run down my arms when I need to reach up, for about $40 bucks it gets the job done.

 

A poncho can get you hurt working around trucks! anything from catching on a latch in the door causing a fall of about 5 feet hitting 2 sets of nice sharp stairs on the way down to getting caught in another truck as it's moving causing you to get drug to the hospital and then with that stupid "dress" trying to keep it down in wind so that you are spending more time holding it down to trying to get your work done so you can make money driving!

Yes, they worked for the military but you aren't going to need to make a tent out of yours or cover yourself in a snipers roost so the "multi use" of a poncho is pretty much not needed in the world of trucking.

Get a nice 2 piece rain suit and wear whatever is the best choice for what you are doing at the time!

I've been in some frog choker storms where ducks were seeking shelter and the bib coveralls and the top worked better than any poncho ever could!

But that's JMHO!
