6' 3" and feeling every bit of it sorry. I have never and will never eat out of a trough that the piggy in front can wipe his nose and then find just the right roll. Hardly eat the swill offered at most truck stops except when meeting a friend anyways. J filed for bankruptcy because the mormans in their infinite wisdom pre-bought a couple million gallons of deisel right before the price reduced. Sorry to burst your bubble but the comdata deal was no bigger than the visa deal.

I stopped at the Hook in Amarillo a few nights ago. Figured i'd give them a shot. Store was still a mess from moving stuff around, but Denny's was open. Went in for breakfast. Food was good, but not worth that extra 5 bucks the cashier stuck in her pocket when she gave me my change. I didn't notice it until I was almost 100 miles away. Next time I'll be counting my change.

hubby bought the gifts while on the road and then gave them when he got home to our kids and i. Hard to do any shopping at home when you barely make it home in time for a birthday or christmas or what not. Many truckers we know did the same thing. How are you so sure the customers you saw buying were car drivers? Is there a difference is their appearance or something? PLEASE DO TELL???? or did you wait around to see if they left out the front door? just wondering.....

Visited the Flying hook in Cheyenne, WY tonite. Denny's is operational. It has been fully remodelled and is the nicest Denny's I've been in I think. Nice atmosphere and it was busy as I heard someone say it's the only Denny's in WY. Driver's lounge now has a large plasma screen on the wall, a lot of drivers were taking advantage of it tonight. I think most of the place has been remodelled, but there are a few areas they are still working on. Seems nicer and brighter than most hooks....only time will tell I suppose, but on this visit, I'd give them a B+

    None....

I have been told that they usually don't allow drivers to use their facilities but that they'd make an exception for me because I didn't stink or act like trailer trash!

I have never seen one of those lounges that I would want to sit in...They're usually filthy and full of morons and truckstop lawyers who for some reason feel the need to talk loud enough to be heard in the next county about things they don't really know anything about.

You mean to tell us that someone actually buys that overpriced giftshop crap at a truckstop and has the gall to give it to their family as a gift?

Wyoming is lucky to only have one Dennys...The food at Dennys looks just like the picture on the menu and tastes just like the page that the picture is printed on...

I hardly ever even go in the truckstops except to shower and pay for fuel so I doubt if I'll ever get to watch 75 episodes of Law and Order in a row on a plasma TV...

Truck stops stop catering to the professional driver when they became "travel plazas". Life goes on, stop where ever you like but I've never had any bad fuel from any Flying J there are some other that are notorius for problems.:biggrin_255:

Well...I've tried to be hopeful, but now its useless.

I stopped at a J (Franklin, KY) today to get me a couple slices of pizza (I love pizza) only to find that they replaced the pizza stand with a $#!$# hotdog stand...

No more Flying Pilots for me...except for fuel (company driver, no choice in that matter)
