There's another thread running around about sliding tandems and some drivers risking violations because they are either too lazy to slide 'em or don't know how. I've been fortunate in my training to have had good instruction from my trainer and frankly, don't see what the big deal is. I've done it myself several times now with no help from anyone. I've also had a couple of occasions where other drivers who just happened to be right by me when I was in the process, jump right in an help out. One driver just happened to be walking by just after I had gotten back in the truck to slide forward before reweighing and he called out, "How many holes?". I told him 3 and seconds later, it's a done deal. Then today at GP, I was sitting at the guard shack about to get out and release the pins to slide the tandems all the way back when a driver who was sitting right beside me, on his way out, literally jumped out of his truck, snatched the release on my tandems and, again, seconds later, a done deal! I'm sure this happens all the time, and it should!!![]()
