I assume you're talking about the grain side, we were a couple years ago, they sent us a contract about 20 pages long, had to sign and send it back. They are very picky about the details, our insurance certificate the agency sent wasn't good enough, it had to waive all rights to subrogation, or some bs like that. In human language, saying we wouldn't sue them. Our insurance co. didn't want to include that, and I finally smoothed it over somehow, but at least around here, they're not an easy bureaucracy to do business with. Talk to someone in one of their offices and ask them, it can't hurt anything. WH can probably tell you more than I can....

Kinda depends on what you haul and where you haul it around here. Hauling local I signed a contract with cargill sent from salina,ks. Hauling wheat for Horizon I had a contract, like RW said, about 20 pages long. Horizon hauls wheat just to mills. That contract was sent from KC Missouri.
I would say talk to Cargill elevators they should know who you have to contact to be approved for hauling. That's how I started with Cargill saw sign in elevator about hauling for them. -
I appreciate it,
-
I was under the understanding, that you had to be approved to haul feed ingredients,
-
Could be I really don't know. I don't haul DDG or mids if that's what your talking about. Highside might know. I know with soybean meal you have to sign a contract to haul for them.

Yeah i appreciate it, im trying to get things lined up for when i can get this truck running, im getting anxious and lacking sleep

Still hauling wheat. I don't think there's any way going to get all the wheat they want out before harvest. That is unless the weather drastically changes. Elevators were used to last year when harvest was so late.
It's been really dry and hot here, not real sure how the fall crops are going to turn out. Hopefully good so we will have something to haul. -
Anybody know anything about Sunset out of Ft Worth TX ? they pull end dumps, dry bulk tankers and flat bed ? They have opened a new terminal in Texarkana,Tx doing a lot of hauling to Transit Mix Concrete plants . Thanks .

Yesterday at elevator they were hearing that dryland corn harvest may begin second or third week of August. That's pretty early for here. Going to auger then sweep out steel bin the elevator has next week. Thank goodness it's only 20,000 bushels.
This may get interesting in a few weeks...hauling out wheat when they start hauling in corn. -
Sounds like around here... the elevator finally let us get back to hauling corn, its not in great shape, we're hauling it 38 miles one way instead of 24. They've got a lot left to haul if they're going to clean things out before harvest. Don't know if they've done the math, but at the current pace, I'd say its going to be cutting it close to have it all moved before new corn starts coming in. I've heard the early corn is running about 10 days early, that'd mean things would start about the 2nd week of Sept......last week of August for the big boys. One thing for sure, this harvest won't be like last year.....Thank God!!
wheathauler Thanks this.
