I think that the key words in your selection of multiple guesses are "wait patiently."

It's totally irrational, but many people will risk their life, your life, and my life to win the race to the next red light. Too many people don't have what it takes to "wait patiently."

My (wild?) theory is that people become accustomed/enslaved to modern technology constantly engaging/distracting/entertaining their brains. This "brain engagement" doesn't really involve thought so much as it occupies the brain. In other words, it's worse than useless. People simply "can't" just sit and wait. Forced to sit and wait, and they will whip out an electronic gadget and begin wearing out their fingertips. No doubt, such bizarre behavior is what attracts alien observers to study our Earth society.

How this will affect evolution of our species "down the road" is good for at least some thought. (Note to Self: Next time I have to "wait patiently," actively engage brain with images of "devolved" human species thousands of years in the future. The assumption is that the human species lasts that long - another "wait patiently" mental adventure waiting to happen.)

Whatever happened to "stop and smell the roses?"

    Later. :biggrin_25523:
