This is the steepest I have ever encountered. 1st gear all the way up. Picture of the sign did not turn out as clear I hoped, but a old flip phone from a moving vehicle. 18% grade. coming back down if you stopped the truck it would still slide on the pavement. So kind of have to keep moving once committed. This is south/west of Clear Lake, CA going into the Geothermal wells, or Gysers more commonly called.

Least you could do is research out your story, There are too many actual drivers here to get away with this one. the average truck can not climb past 20% PAVED. Even at 20 most would not make it if it had any turns ant all or eve a dip would stop it.

I once loaded at a marble mine. Had to get pushed out of the mine(first time goin inside a mtn for me) and when i left the mine it was first with the jakes on high. I dont know how steep it was but that was the only time that i didnt feel in controll. bad thing was i could have walked faster than i was going.lol

That is why I always attach a rocket to the rear of my trailer. Now I have a ticket for not having a Heavemat endorsement on my LDC....

Steep enough that I needed a D9 to pull me up while loaded and the same D9 chained to the trailer to get me back down.... this was in a landfill in KY that is a former strip coal mine... the road in and out wasn't completed yet and I had on 50K of landfill liner...

I've seen that on TV and if it would flip a Motorcycle end for end then what do you think it would do to a truck:biggrin_25521:

You just KNOW that this post is full of WIN! Too bad I couldn't find one of a semi. I don't think that my company would be pleased if I attempted this stunt in their equipment:
