Whats the Best CB Radio on the Market?

You need to post a price, I know you say it doesnt matter but yes it does.
In order to get you the best radio we need to know your price range.
I could hook you up with a $500-600 radio if you want to spend that much.
So tell us are you in the $150? 250? 350? 450? range?
Cause depending on the price range will determine the best radio for that

2nd ,spend good money on the antenna set-up also...$300 radio into a $2 antenna = #### rx/tx....

Is this truck your "Ride" or do you "slip seat" from truck to truck ???

AM ( CB only ) or jump up to lsb/usb and /or "Exports".......

I wont be in the 500$ range. So which one/s finds the balance between economy and quality?

 

I went through alot of radio's and finally found what I was looking for. A galaxy 95T/2. It has all the features you will ever need and not need. (better to have it and not need it, than to need it and not have it). If I would have spent the money i spent on all the others on this new galaxy, I would have saved alot of money. The 95T-2 is about 200 watts, straight out of the box. So that gives you enough power to get over most of the trash talk in the truck stops if your needing directions or something.
The galaxy 95T-2 is my favorite so far. Notice I said MY fav. It's about $500.

 

does any one have any feedback on the cobra gtl 200? i was considering to purchase one in the near future.

The cheapest. I went down to Radio Shack and spent as little as possible. Took my wife out to dinner with the change, too.

You are wise to stay off of the dang thing and just drive. Occasionally a shipper will want you to monitor some channel.

Or you could become a SuperTrucker and blabber your head off with echo, roger beep and mega watt transmitter.

But then you'd be a SuperTrucker. And that's not good.

 

This 40-channel CB is hard to beat.

WX means it has NOAA weather channels .. which will alert you to emergency weather broadcasts - even if your CB is turned off.

NW means "NiteWatch," which means it has a lighted dial - useful at night.

ST, "Sound Tracker," refers to some noise-canceling technology the company is proud of.

It has a built-in antenna calibration feature - which tells you if your antenna, and wiring leading to it, are compatible.

It retails all the time at truck stops for $139, but can sometimes be had at promotional prices as low as $99.

It comes with a decent mike .. no need to cough up the $60 for one of the separate killer mikes the truck stops sell.

This thing has the standard, legal, amount of broadcast wattage.

The Cobra 25 is similar to their 29, but doesn't have the antenna calibration feature.

And please, guys, stay away from the echo box .. yeah, it sounds cool, but the echo makes it hard/impossible to understand your transmissions. (I mention only "guys" because I haven't heard any of our fairer drivers demonstrating a need for their voices to have the echo-chamber effect - their voices alone are sweet enough!)
