I heard they are an OK company. They do a lot of midwest to south Tx.
loads. If you all live in those freight lanes it wouldn't be a bad company to look at.

JDC specializes in serving the auto industry, and as such, they have a great deal of "hot freight" or loads that demand "just-in-time" delivery schedules.

They are not necessarily a bad company, but do tend to go through a certain amount of people because of the high demands placed upon drivers. Their latest safety statistics do not make them look very good. Their ISS-2 stands today at 100, and it doesn't get any worse than that.

When I looked up their record, I was confused for a few minutes. Their overall safety management assessment was not initially supported by the out-of-service criteria. It seems though, that due to their inordinate amount of drivers being cited for traffic violations is what is dragging them down. 80% of those violations are for speeding, and they involve an amount equal to just over 50% of their drivers in the past two years having been cited.

What this tells me, is their drivers are pushed....and hard...to deliver on time.

Me? I'd not be interested in working for a carrier with this bad a reputation, but of course, there are drivers that like to run hard, and take risks. I'd say that working for them would be exactly that.

I am currently working for JDC. He was right. You can get all the miles you want. But they try very hard to get you home on weekends or any other commitment they make. You have to have a little backbone at time as with any company but nothing new with that. I have had to call safety when asked to go beyond logbook and was backed 100 percent. I have told them loads would be late or could not be delivered on time and reply was do your best. They do not hesitate to take care of repairs if needed. They are very adament about keeping accurate logbooks and if you are put out of service you will be contacting them daily. They are serious about safety and keeping their commitments to you. The pay rates are competitive and benefits excellent. I plan to make this company a career. If you go for it tell them Starley recommended them. Give them permission to give me your number and I will call you. Good luck and keep it safe.:biggrin_2558:

JDC was just fined $93.000.00 for logbook and other violations. This is the second time this has happened to that company in 3 years. The last fine was $52.000.00. Makes me want to sign up..:biggrin_25513:

JDC Logistics Inc. of Franklin and three affiliated companies have filed for receivership and will close within 60 days, resulting in the layoff of about 500 employees.

Milwaukee attorney Michael Polsky was appointed Tuesday as the receiver for the companies in Milwaukee County Circuit Court. He said they have debt totaling about $31 million.

Polsky said he is seeking buyers for the companies, which are: JDC Logistics, Stars Expedited Delivery L.L.C., Prolog Services L.L.C. and JDC Leasing Inc.

The companies primarily served the automotive industry, and their business suffered as a result of difficulties in that industry, Polsky said.

JDC Logistics has a fleet of 450 tractors and 1,200 trailers, Polsky said.

My husband worked for JDC Logistics for a couple years and they then worked him and did not pay him. He last worked for JDC in 2006 and they still owe him over 1600.00. They then refused to send my husband a w-2 form to file taxes so we could not file and now, 4 years later we are being fined over 500.00 through the state of Michigan even though a year and a half later they turned into the state of Michigan that he did get paid by them. They now owe over 4 million dollars because JDC has the highest in violations. I would highly recommend to anyone to not work for this company.
