I have worked for and/or heard about numerous trucking companies. Howells Motor Freight in my opinion is the BEST on all accounts. Good equipment; good freight , mostly reefer; honest dispatchers; lots of drop/hook; 72 mph trucks; they pay for everything; layover,drop/hook, Rand McNally miles; achieveable bonuses free uniform shirts/hats/jackets;I cannot say anything bad about them..Howells is the very best. If you live in or around one of their terminals, go check them out..Tell 'em RICK sent you....

JustSonny Thanks this. -
ive always considered applying at howell if i ever wanted to go otr/regional pulling a reefer. i have never heard a bad thing about them from the few drivers i have bs'ed with at truck stops, shippers etc.

Sounds good, its not often you hear all good things about a company.

When shakey went into the hospital with heart problems they let his truck sit were he parked it for six months without moving any of his things or telling him anything about needing the truck.Extremely rare respect for a driver.

i was looking at howells... but to me, they aint pay nothing.. they was starting off at like 33 cents a mile with two year experience.. not cool..

Just wondering about what you said, it would appear to me that would equate to around 900 to 1000 bucks a week, also wondering what a driver starting out is supposed to be worth. Money is not everything, care and compassion, good equipment and other benefits can more than compensate for green fodder.Runaway02 Thanks this.

My paychecks very seldom varied more than a few dollars pay check to pay check. The wife loved that.Don had a job to do, just like us drivers..He did what he had to do to move freight, thats truckin.. I was home every weekend, not every other weekend or some weekends.I was always treated with respect no matter who I talked to in the company..Some of the reefers had some age on them, but they were well maintained. They fixed anything the truck needed on weekends while I was at home..I've been around a few years & grew up around trucks..I very seriously doubt that there is a better company to work for..'nuff said..ShakeyBIG RIGGER and JustSonny Thank this.

.33 while moving is a lot more than .40 is making waiting on a load.JustSonny Thanks this.
