I've read allot on this thread about the 7700 and trucking. I am wondering if this unit is suitable for RV use, or will a car gps be better. Has anyone used this for RV use? Does it have campground POI's ? Does it speak street names? I am currently using the Lowrance 500, and it has a special section for RV's and trucking. I rely heavily on this section for quick Walmart location search since they are RV and trucker parking friendly. Does the 7700 offer a quick walmart search feature. Thanks, Bill

anyone have a problem with the cobra routing you off the freeway a couple of miles before the exit that is within a block or two ?i have this happen all the time just a heads up
-
Yep. I should have looked at the directions I got for a load I delivered to Tyler TX. BB took me to an exit or 2 before and ran me through town.
Going through Texas she can't figure out how to discern the acess roads from the interstate.
I was at the T/A in Laredo. Just for giggles I plugged in Swifts address when I was going there to pick up a load. 15 miles is what she said!! It is less than 1 1/4.
Also when I was on I-81 she showed me running parallell to the interstate. (where no road existed) Every road that connected she tried to get me to get on back onto the highway with.
Something else I had forgotten was the Garmin tells you ahead of time when you are coming to a scale. Something Cobra ought to consider. It is after all for truckers. -
Anyone know a way to use map coordinates to find a location? I know they are programmed into the 7700 because they show up on addresses, but I can't put in coordinates to map a location. Thanks for any help.

Hey Brian, I just purchased the 7700 # the TA in Morris, IL, set it all up to take me to the steel plant in Marseilles, IL. # 1201 E. Broadway. It took me to exit 97, hwy 15 S. into Marseilles right to Broadway,,,UH OH,,,Broadway is a restricted truck route from the west.

Today I was ready for breakfast. i wanted Subway. I put in for the nearest Pilot. I was at the 205mm going South on I-65 in Illinois. I selected the Pilot that showed the closest. It was in reality # exit 201 coming up. She tried to route me back North 20+ miles!
Yesterday I was on US41 in Wisconsin almost into Milwaukee. It refused to find the T/A in Russell IL. When I put Russell IL in it told me it was 480+ miles away!
I tried to enter the address for Swift's terminal in WI.
2476 American Drive Menahsa WI I couldn't find it by name either. I used to have the address stored and hand to go back to the factory settings.
I am going to download the uppgrade when I get home.
It also didn't find the Walmart DC in Gas City IN today. 100 Fischer Pkwy. On the Walmart instructions they called the road CR500. No luck with that either. -
I don't remember if I mentioned this before. She took me through the historic district in DePere WI looking for the industrial park. That was a couple of weeks ago.
I went up there again. Different shipper same area. The company Leichts Warehousing. 2121 American Blvd. It wanted to drag me throught the historic district again. The industrial area is right off US41 and Schering Rd. Right next to the Walmart she didn't know about. -
Is there a way to put in coordinates to find a location? I'm oil hauling and need to map off-road locations- they only have coordinates in my dispatches. The coordinates show up on the gps for locations and addresses, so they must be programmed into 7700 already, but no way to input the coords. Thanks.
