The five second rules lives ! This is what makes America great !
I think that employee should be commended. Hmmm ... which costs less? A piece of bread or a lawsuit?
I assume there are cameras in the public areas of Subways (and other restuarants) but are there any in the kitchen area? If so, could health inspectors look at footage from them?

I don't want to quote the Roadmedic post, but here's my reply:
Eeeeeew!. That's just like dropping a slice of pizza on the floor in the men's restroom, and then pick it up, look around to see if anyone is looking, and then continue to indulge in your glut by consuming the remainder of the pizza slice. Gross. Now you all have lost your appetite, muahaha!
There are times when cutting costs is just plain dumb. Or in the case of the pizza story, just plain nasty. -

I still shudder at the thought of the long shelf life milk called "UHT" they had at our command. I think that the milk has a 5 year shelf life, don't quote me. I just avoided cereal at my last command like the plague (before I got out).

Chili Mac is awesome! -
None of this bothers me a bit....I wouldn't feed a Subway sandwitch to a dog!
I ate one...Once!simplyred1962 Thanks this. -
The bread basket to me is the worst culprit of germs, like at an Olive garden type place. If you are lucky enough that the bread/garlic toast has not been recycled from the last table........that bread basket itself never gets cleaned. Another one that gets me is fake plants they are dust collectors hanging over your food.
one more for good measure......same person that prepares your food, takes and handles the money! yuck, yuck........and more yuck! -
Even if I don't eat my bread roll I mangle it so bad it could never be put back together, same as the food I leave on my plate when I'm full........No way they are serving my food twice lol!!!
-
They just throw it in the food processor and WALLA....they have "homemade fresh bread crumbs" lol well "seasoned" even.
