We have some drop yards out there and a sales office that I believe has showers, etc. in Oxnard. That being said, Prime doesn't work like many trucking companies out of "terminals." When empty, we're dispatched from where we are. Lower overhead ya know...

If you're asking about home time, what we do is get a load that takes us to the vicinity of the house, drop the trailer wherever dispatch tells us to, and then bobtail home. You can park the tractor at your place if its legal and you have a place to do it. Otherwise, its over to the nearest truckstop (or wherever,) park and have someone pick you up. Reverse on the way out.

Its still 10 times better than your beloved Denver "terminal" dirt lot.

IP, What do you think of the Cascadia? Recall seeing any used Cascadias setup for tanker? Thanks for the reply..

If I lived 10 miles from Oxnard, I'd like that one too. But (thank the Lord for giant favors) I don't live anywhere near the Soviet Socialist Republic of Kalifornia!

It'll blow U2's clunker Century off of the road!

Seriously, the DD15 has a lot more torque than the DD60, much quieter too. Very easy to get good fuel economy with the DD15 as well. I think I have seen some Cascadias pulling tankers - but it comes down to the luck of the draw when having a tractor assigned to you.

    Stenniss and Everett Thank this.

Whatever... This clunker hasnt dipped under 8 MPG in 5 straight weeks...

Ive been THE top dog on the board for 3 out of the last 5 weeks (in the top 3 for all 5 weeks).... 8.77 this week.

Ive hit on something...But I dont want to jinx it. I have had both heavy and light loads... ALSO older trailers and newer ones. Running east and west.

I don't work for Prime but i have talked to several who have been there ,rangeing from green-horns (like me) to drivers with a few miles behind them.
But i haven't heard anything worth saying (the usual gripes we all have)
Pretty much they like it there,so you don't have to be a recruiter to be happy.

Thanks for all the info on Prime. I talked with Tiffany the last couple days and she is submitting my app and background check to the verification department this morning. Hopefully headed to Springfield soon to start the career change. Haven't driven is 13 yrs but am ready to go. Your posts in this and the other threads have made Prime an easy choice. I also grew up in Oxnard CA. Loved it at the time but do not miss the state now lol.
