Been a passenger for quite some time. It is a very confused business, they say one thing and DO another. ALWAYS watch your paycheck for what is owed you for everything :biggrin_2557:

I am researching a lot of different companies. I have looked at Stevens, Schneider, Prime, and now Central, (among others). My fiance' and I want to team drive, but he has a 11 yr old felony and a 3 yr old misdemeanor. I know, I know... that's not my issue though. I want to drive and he is going to be my ride along... if I get a few years experience before he can get hired then so be it, but at least I will be an experienced driver. I need to know if any of you have any suggestions about a good company that will allow a rider and not abuse me (although I am willing to take some abuse) I know I have to pay my dues and all. I also have to go to school, and through training. I am worried about all of the things I hear about these companies taking advantage of a student by locking them into a contract with schooling and then not even hiring them. I will be quitting a job I have had for 9 years with the city, to drive trucks. Its a good job, but I dream of trucking. I'm a gypsy stuck in the city! any suggestion any of you have will be appreciated.

Howdy everybody! Good ole boy making his first post on here. I have been reading along for quite a while, and my training course starts through an outside school 8/2, then I get shipped down to Fontana for my CDL test and training to start. Just wanted to say hi, and if anyone could pm me with useful info, I would deeply appreciate it.

Central had i nice big depot up the road from Malto meal in SLC Ut don't really think anyone can say ya or nah to any company i good example of that was 5 years back we had a whole crew of drivers that went to Freymiller in Oklahoma city OK after 3 months 10 of them had left does that mean there a bad company of was it just really fussy drivers? I just happened to be taking on the CB radio a few months after they'd all left to another Freymiller driver and he said he was quite happy with them and reckoned the drivers that left were a bunch of fuss pots, were upset cause they didn't have fridges in there truck well i'll give them a nickle and they can go call someone that cares. the moral of the story is you've just got to try use your gut instinct if something smells it usually means theres a fish head stuck somewhere huh.

Hey all... I have researched alot of truck companies that train drivers... I have no misconceptions that Central will be the greatest trucking company ever, nor do I believe any word my recruiter said, but I want to get into the business, and from all the companies I have looked at, and that would take me, Central seems to be the least of evils and its a temporary job until I get a CDL and someday hopefully get with a company where Im home every weekend.
I start class on the 9th, and unlike most people on here, I will post about how things are going FOR ME, and what MY experiences with the company are like.
