I have around 30 thousand that I would like to spend to get a decent used truck, looking for pete 387 or kenworth t2000 are there any good places to look around the NE part of PA or surrounding area.. also I have seen some Western stars that look pretty nice too.

First off don't tell them how much you have! Next, go in with an open mind and look for the best deal, no matter what make or model truck. ALways look around at all dealerships. See who will give you the best deal.

yeah I figured they don't need to know what I have that way I can work to get a better deal.. I just like the Areo type trucks that get alittle better MPG

If you want aero then maybe look at a KW T660. It has a good turning radius and is a better truck than a T2000. If you want mileage than you would probably want a detroit engine but you gotta make sure it is set up properly correct ratio's etc.... a Good Mechanic should know. If you want dependability then you want Pete or KW. If you want affordability then Freightliner. If I was to buy a truck it would be KW or Pete. I've driven enough Freightliners and International to know that I wouldnt want to own one unless I got an AWESOME deal.

Baskins prices are right on.... but you need to check out any unit you buy...it's hard to find a good older truck at a big dealer.

A Hood is easier to work on.... if you can't at least fix the basics you'll never make it IMHO .

Find a local truck repair shop. ... those guys always know of stuff for sale
