    FOOD POISONING!

I have gotten it before at home and was pretty miserable but when I got it on the road it was pure hell. I had stopped near an industrial park around midnight, vomiting and diarhea every 15 minutes for hours. By 1000 the next morning I was able to drive to a rest stop. It took 24 hours before I was able to drive again.

It wasn't from truck stop food. I had made a tamale pie in my lunch box stove which I always lined with aluminum foil. I think that some germs got into the lid and then the food. Since then I would always wipe it down with antibacterial wipes after using it.

I was out in the middle of no where and I broke a tooth. It was cutting my cheek like crazy. The one dentist wasn't answering his phone. So I went into the truck stop and bought a pack of nail filers. I shaved down my broken tooth until it was no longer cutting me. A couple days later I was able to find a dentist.

I went into the hospital three times while with CFI and was fired every time and had to take their asinine week long orientation every time with 28 years experience 5 or 6 times more than the ones teaching it.

A couple weeks ago I woke up early, with a bad stomach ache, to leave for a run.

The further I got from home the worse the cramps and pain got. Finally I pulled
over to rest a bit and ended up talking with chuck for awhile. Felt better after me
and chucks conversation so I took off down the road again.

After about 30 or 40 miles I had to pull over and puke again. Each time I did puke
I felt better for a couple minutes. Each time I would take back off I'd only make it
another 10 or 20 miles and had to pull back over and puke.

Once I was about 150 miles from home the pain and cramps had got so bad I pulled
over and crawled in the bunk to wait for my coming death it felt like. Nothing I
took, pepto, or antacids was working. It got to the point I was about to call an
ambulance to come and take me to the hospital.

I ended up falling asleep for a few hours and when I awoke the pain was allmost
all but gone. I was able to make my delivery and get my butt home.

I hope to never have to be really sick and stuck out on the road. That day was
bad but could have been worse and there is nothing better than to be home and in
your own bed when your sick like that.
