I have spent a year trying to do just that, and unless I want to work for 15.00 and hour there just isn't much to be had.
I am not willing to learn Spanish so i am excluded from many "openings" just for that.
I search every job I am qualified for each day, have a placement company working to place me in a position nation wide and since I was laid off over a year ago I have had one interview, along with the other 200 guys that they called in...
I am just about as sick as a person can be of that pursuit.
I have always worked out of town, usually home a couple weekends a month at the most. Have been happily married for over twenty years even with the time spent away. I am sure I will find the trucking industry a welcome change providing I pay attention to all the business aspects of becoming a driver.
