what make and model number do you all use? i have a 500w roadpro inverter and i am looking for opinions on a fridge that will run off this thing. also, please state if your model is one of the compressorless models. i would prefer one that has a compressor, that way i can reliably store lunchmeat and fresh vegetables and fruits.
if you running a fridge that uses a bigger inverter, please include what size you have.
i would rather ask a few fellow drivers than to buy something and have it crap out on me on the road. that would not be good.
thanks!
Rob

I have a very large inverter(4500) and run everything in my truck off it. I have a regular fridge just like you have in your house.....only smaller it also has a freezer. 110 appliances are much cheaper and you can get the warranty on them when you buy them. I take mine in once a year and they go over it and fix anything wrong or give me a new one. I also carry a slow cooker, put a roast in it and eat for a couple days. Works very well. i hate eating at truck stops.
A 500 inverter is really not much good for doing anything but recarging cell phones or running very small applinces that do not heat or cool.bornagaintrucker Thanks this. -
are you an owner/op? i dont know of any place that would allow an inverter that big. at any rate, that is the way to go though. fridge/freezer, microwave and a slow cooker. man i bet that truck smells good lol

Mine came built in from the factory and doesn't require an inverter.

I have a two-compartment Frigidaire - works great. 1.2 Amps at 115V is 138W. Most fridges don't pull very much power - and only when the compressor is running.

I just strap the old Philco to the catwalk, works great !!!

My company allows them in their words, "Bring in whatever, pay for the kit and we will get it done in a few hours."

My company will let you put what every you want in the truck. They will install, you just have to buy the item and anything you need to install it. if you run the battery down because you left the inverter on when you were home, then you need to jump the truck, they won't pay for a road call.Eninety2 Thanks this.
