You can put on a singe turbo but it would have to be like the one used on a 6.7 Ford with a twin compressor, the reason they have a twin turbo set-up is to get maximum boost at lower speeds and the ability to get high boost, at the higher RPM.
The turbo`s on an Acert is not the problem.

Not exactly. it was a couple of years ago at the Mid America Truck show I talked with a guy they said they could convert it to pre acert. I think it was to replace the heads, exhaust manifold and twins with a single plus reprogram the ecm. Maybe when its due for overhaul I will look into it.

It can be done...it was the old way to get these things to run before the ecm's were able to be reprogrammed....I would just put a programmed ecm on it ...but if you must do it BXS is easiest..change out rocker boxes, engine harnesses, rocker harnesses, ecm , manifold , turbo, air inlet piping, discharge piping and one or two of the sensors...if I remember right the botton timing sensor is different but that was few years ago....you can use the stock acert injectors and cam with decent results...if its a later mxs/nxs the above applies plus the top timing sensor has to be relocated to the old position and the timing gear may or may not have to be changed...I don't know for sure only have done the bxs...just put a ecm on it and RIDE.
