I'm now contemplating Roehl, US Xpress, and Werner.
I'm looking for opinions...both good or bad on these companies.

Not sure. They didn't tell me the reason.
I don't have anything on my driving record and I don't drink or use drugs.
Could be something on my medical history, but I really don't know.

Also thinking of Covenant (got a pre-hire with them).

I'm most interested in how well these companies treat their drivers and hometime.

Most of these "Bottom Feeders" treat their drivers like cattle (If they treat them that well)

Home time in your first year with any of them will be...Not good.

    go with Rohel.........

they are family owned and operated, and they DO get you home...........and the pay scale is good too.

I'm not a truck driver, I'm actively applying for companies just like you. So I can only give my opinion based on the reading I've done of companies. Roehl is really the only good company you've listed. I have not read a lot of good things about US Xpress, Werner, and I certainly would not encourage you to apply with Covenant unless you have a criminal background or poor driving record.

Without knowing where you are located, here are some of the more reputable companies I know of:

    Schneider
    Shaffer
    Watkins & Shepard
    Roehl
    Crete (part of Shaffer)
    Hunt (part of Shaffer)

These are companies I've heard about by word of mouth, read about, and all of which I have personally applied to. So I'm providing you with this advice not only based on what I've read, but based on what I sincerely believe. I'm actively pursuing employment with all of these companies.

    geez............i guess so......huh............??

i sign up for message boards, then i forget them...........

but then i get "busy" with one or two............

been a driver for 20+ years now, and my current occupation is that of a truck driver instructor, for the past 2 years now. this is why i recommended Rohel.......and we DO NOT get kick backs for sending anyone students............like i just read in another posting some-where's here
