I went threw there in the 70"s with my father, we have it so easy compared to what it was back in those days.
You guys ever get a chance take a train from Denver to sacramento (or LA) you will never forget it. Takes you threw Aspen and Donner's pass, unbelievable scenery, You will never see anything like it from the road.

That's back in the days when you had to drive the truck while standing on the running board so you could reach to pour the oil in the motor as you were running up the hill!!

Ditto!! I do the same thing. I must have hundreds of pics, I've taken from the drivers seat...Donner Pass, is always beautiful.
