Depending on how far down the window it covers this is immigrant. If I remember correctly you can't cover any thing the wipers sweep.

Huh, Funny...Years ago I was in a 4 wheeler with kids and family. Lived in GA. Had windows tinted, got pulled in NC. Trooper Flipped out. Said I had Limo grade tint. I was running 5 over with about 8 other 4 wheelers. Gave me a ticket for the tint and a speeding ticket. -
That brings up the question, why is it legal for limos only? -
Good Question...I guess it was too dark for Law inforcement to see in. I guess in Limos you can do what ever as long as your not driving....LOL -
I would have to pull the fmcsa book out to quote the % accurately, but I do believe you can tint the side windows but the tint must allow 60% of light in. on the front windows, I do not remember.
-
In B.C. and Canada, you are allowed 3 inches of tint at the top of the front windshield. You can have no tinting forward of the drivers sholders on the side windows. behind the driver you can block them out totally. Just a thought!

I got pulled over in Fargo for the tint on my chevy truck. It was starting to peel on the edges it's been on there for 13 yrs.so I pulled it off of the drivers side wiped all the glue off the window and it is still just as dark without the tint.

In Iowa you can have tinted windows as long as you have a exemption card.
-A medical exemption may be granted only by a licensed physician.
-This exeption does not alow windows tinted with less than 35% light transmittance.
-This exemption does not apply to commercial vehicles.
Just get your eye doctor to sign the card.
Yes I am a card carrying member. Kind of throws the police off when they pull you over for tint and you tell them I have a exemption card for that. They still want to check it. My truck passes at 36% -
Thanks for that tip Hurricane! Hubby was the one that got nailed for it in a company truck. Company dealt with it for him.
