I bet I can pull up the loads Marten is pulling for us for the past two days and 3 out of 4 will be late. We just took a HUGE hit on a high dollar customer last week because Marten could not keep to the load tender they accepted. Don't matter if it is preloaded or live load, we are cutting them because of the load I was tracking last night that they AGAIN dropped the ball by sending in a driver that was out of hours on a drop and hook, knowing full well we ship Just In Time freight.
:Satellite: So yea, I do know what I am talking about. I dispatch them, track them and I'm the one that catches all the hell from our customers and sales team when THEY Screw the pooch. By the way, I had to call the other day for signed bills for 16 loads the company told me they didn't haul. I had to give them truck and trailer numbers to prove they DID haul the loads. Yea, sounds like they really have it together!

Oh yes they love to send a driver with low hrs to pick up loads, and they say to them, Oh we will repower you or have you drop it in the drop yard. And all this is after the driver tells them, Hey i don't have the hrs.
Your not the only customer to have this happen. I have seen loads sit in drop yrds for days, cause it has 'slipped' out of the radar some wehre in Mondovi.

Send me a pm i'd like to talk more with you about tthe problems

My question is where is Mr. Red Font (Kabar) to "blow" the Marten horn and tell us all how we're crazy and Marten is the best place to work in the whole wide world? Or maybe did he finally see the light? Just a thought...

You must have a better FM than I do. I'll drive nonstop to get to a place, and sit the whole next day. Last 3 loads in a row I showed up 10 to 12 hours early for delv. So you drive 680 one day, sit the next ( Maybe get 100). I'm getting 300 to 400 miles a day when you average it out, and making less than minimum wage if you figure what I would be getting if I was on the clock at these shippers and receivers. Why they can't call ahead and try to reschedule is beyond me (they can see I hustle), so I've taken it upon myself to call shippers and receiver and up the appt. Even when I'm successful, the FM doesn't have the business sense to try to have something ready earlier, or to even realize that," Hey this guy will run his tail off, let's benefit Marten and him, and turn this truck into a money maker.

My biggest week so far has been not even broke 2000 miles, and everytime I sit at a pilot I'm searching for a job online. I can't wait to give Marten 2 weeks notice when I find a real job. Just about anything will pay more than this. This is the lowest paying carrier I have ever worked for. And don't you dare ask for miles, or they will punish you with less. I'm hoping that keeping my mouth shut, and continuing to show up 10 to 12 hours early every single time will make my point. That somehow they will catch on.

I talked to my former employer yesterday, and he's is shocked at what I'm going through with Marten. He's trying to help me find something, and I might have a job where the average driver there is making 65 to 70k a year. I have to call him Sunday.
I was making about 1200 a week at my previous job doing the same thing. Nothing personal Marten, but I'm not with you for anything other than to make as much money as I can, and feed my family. Instead I'm going into debt with low pay, and cashing in investments to pay them off, to buy my kids school clothes, braces, food, shelter ect...

I don't know about anybody else, But all my loads deliver on time. No lates in two years that i have been with marten. As more companys go E-log there is gonna be more problems with loads getting to there destination on time. Alot of shippers think it's still 1975 and that were gonna run 1000 miles a day. With csa 2010, the era of the outlaw trucker is going fast. Shippers and receivers are a big part of the problem, and they are going to be forced to get there #### together. Im getting real tired of sitting for hours at some of these wherehouses, whittling away my 14 hours.

I should mention that I was never late due to my own screw up. Was late a couple times due to weather(closed roads).

They won't notice nor will they ever decide to give you more miles because you show up early all the time. I spent 2 years hoping they would figure out I like to run and make money and they never took advantage of that or appreciated it. I even got yelled at for calling and moving delivery appointments up. Had on that was 882 miles that loaded in Toledo on Thursday afternoon and did not deliver in Ocheleta,Ok til 2130 on Tuesday so I asked to drop it at a terminal or yard and get something else and they said no and told me Walmart said they would not take it earlier. I called Walmart and they told me they would take me Friday at 2215 so I let my FM know so she could preplan me and she yelled at me and said who gave you the authority to reschedule. Go figure.

Sounds like the office staff has a bunch of childish little power trips going on. I can't stand that crap. If I get to a place early, I ask them if they want it. If they do, it's getting unloaded. If the office has that much of a problem with it, I'll go get in someone else's truck and make them money.

I'm amazed that she go mad at you. She should realize he more productive you are, the more money it makes Marten, the better it makes her look. Instead it sounds like she has an ego problem because you made her look stupid. Not hard to do with Marten FMs. They need to stop calling themselves a TOP Pay Carrier. Unless you consider less than minimum wage TOP Pay.
