I am looking for a good turn by turn GPS for my laptop. Is Co Pilot worth the money and is it as good as it claims to be???

    Thanks

For the amount of $$$$$ for co-pilot, even though it does have big truck routing, it aint no where near worth it in my opinion.

Did you need the GPS recv'r too? If so then NO 200 bux aint a good deal.

I did alot of research before and after I decided on what I bought.
I found out that there are only 3 or 4 databases for routing and all these companys buy it from these sources.

Micro$oft streets and trips is a bit high too.
    I went with Delorme $99.00
I have used both MS and Delorme, Delorme has a few features I like better.

Here is my take on using it.
If you are going from Ft. Bragg ( Fayetteville) NC to Yuma,AZ
I only need the use of GPS navagating around the city, the inbetween I can read a map.
You should only use a GPS / Mapping program as a reference. 97% of the time it is on the money.
I can only remember one time Delorme put me in a bad spot, but it was at the end of a "long" trip, and I was not paying attention. Ended up in a housing area :toothy5:, and had a heck of a time getting out.

Which ever you choose, there will be a learning curve on judging the roads.

I use copilot, and I like it a lot. The software only cost me $299.00. I already had a receiver from ALK technologies. I wouldn't go without it. Lots of people I know use streets and trips, but you have to make sure and check for restricted routes and low clearances.

I am not sure how one can say it is not worth it unless they have tried it..
    just a personal opinion.
I have it and it is great and was worth every penny..
