Central Refrigerated Truck Stop

Ok. I love Henderson, I really do. But I never drop loads there early with one major exception - the "can you do me a favor" loads. Had a load coming up from louisiana to drop in Golden but I was coming in early. So I stopped last night and just when I stopped I get the message of "I need you to help me out."

It was a four dropper and the hours on it are so tight that as soon as my 10 hr brk is up, I have to go without stopping. Of course, 287 is a clusterf$## and I get stopped for 20 minutes waiting for a pilot car which now puts me 20 minutes behind to my first stop. Everything was going well until my 2nd stop. Has anyone else delivered to a house? Here I am looking for a business called "city wine sales" or something like that and I'm driving out into a residential neighborhood not really in any city at all and not seeing a business. I get to a dead end and get out of the truck and find the address on a mailbox. Then a guy comes down the driveway with a john deer and we offload his 1 pallet using the bucket. Just hadn't been expecting to do a home delivery.

Sucky part is that the final drop on this doesn't drop until 10pm now. So I have to do an 8/2 split, get a load and head back down to Georgia.

I too haven't been home for over 3 months. It is tough but I'm in that "I got bills to pay!" mode. I have to call and find out how much my maint. account is looking to see if I have the backup funds to take HT if I don't have the mileage to cover it. So I do kind of envy you Panhandle_Flash

 

Just checking in. I have been lurking some in the past months. So glad to be back with 1bad and getting to see him everyday. Well almost there is the occasional day he is gone over night. But home for the most part. Love our new home feels so good to be back on track with life and our marriage. Central did everything possible to ruin it for us but I guess true love does conquer all!!!!!!! Hope everyone has been doing well. Pan, when you gonna add me as a facebook friend? lol

I know I was MIA for quite awhile but the last few months have been really hard and just needed time to get myself back together. Hey guys.. I miss central so much.. I tried it over at a certain blue company and came home very dissapointed. I promise yall.. The stuff we do at central and put up with is so minnor compared to other companies.. So ima moderate in here.. 1bad and jj made me the godfather.. So I need to live up to it.. I'm called carl tomorrow and seein about commin back..

I loved central.. But I didn't know untill I left just how well they treated us.. I envy yall in your lease trucks.. God I miss my kw... : ( ... I need saved.. Any lease op wanna let me run their truck and get them anothern?? Oh ya.. Hey mike.. Sorry about my absence.. I had to take a bus ride.. Now I'm bussin it up to the home.. So I do miss central and their affective problem solving they did for me.. Sure wish'd I woulda given er more time...

 

if carl says no, ask if you can team with another central driver for a while to prove yourself again. And I have to agree we don't have it so bad from what other drivers say about their own companies. Detention causes alot of conversation between drivers from different companies. The only one I hear good about from the drivers is Landstar. But they are 100% owner op.

Mikley, I guess Ill see you in WVC on Monday then. I'm getting my APU installed and picking up a student on Wednesday (I hope).

 

I am working in Albany, GA & I'm seeing Central trucks everywhere. How are miles right now? Also, does anyone know how much Central takes out on a newbie for lock & king pin & load locks? Lastly, is it hard to get home time if you stay out for 3 weeks? Thanks & be safe!
