    1) No new-hires can have pets on-board, only people that were "grandfathered" in under the old policy have them.

    2) Crete doesn't pay extra for hauling haz-mat, but when your CDL comes up for renewal, they'll pay $100 for the cost of the background check.

I've been here over a decade, and I've hauled maybe 6 actual haz-mat loads that had to be placarded, and probably 30 or so that were haz-mat, but didn't need to be placarded because they were exempt (batteries) or didn't meet the minimum RQ.

I left Crete after 3 1/2 years in February 2009 to get off the road. When I saw that I needed to come back to driving I made the HUGE mistake of going to work for Marten Transport in Mondovi, WI. While Crete isn't perfect (but what company is?) I learned by working at Marten that they were really one of the better outfits I've worked for. I will be returning to Crete in a few weeks.

a weel and a half ago i traded in a century for a prostar and i have driverthe century and cascadia and i have to say the prostar blows themout of the water no exscuses. I got one down in mareitta and it had a team in it before i got it its a 33 hundred series and doesnt have that colision system on it thank god. But i have to say i love that prostar the way it drives the inside and out and the cummins engine it has pulls way better than those detroits do and it is a very quiet truck

What kind of storage do they have on the bunk (closet space etc). The company I drive for now has prostars and I looked in one but it looked like they didn't spec it out at all.

Never mind. I'm at Crete now and got a Pro Star out of orientation. I'm VERY pleased with the truck and the specs!

The Prostars don't have nearly the storage space that I had in my old Century, I really miss that big overhead bin above the windshield! What I don't miss is the leaky windshield, windleaks and all the rattles and road noise. All in all I like the Prostar but if I was still doing the OTR thing it'd be tough to decide storage room or quit comfort?
Oh yeah I miss my old cassette deck! I've had to finelly start buying cd's:biggrin_25523:

i have a 2010 prostar, rides good, drives good, and is heavy as the devil. Full of fuel you are looking at 21000 bobtail. Top load weight full of fuel is about 42500 to be legal.
They are all made in Mexico and the electronics are iffy. Other than that, nice truck.
