this company is a joke (clown type not funny type). I've been here for 11 months and made half what I made last year. When schilli bought our other company out, they took on all of the drivers that wanted to go and the owners 2 boys. After the doors closed on the company, they forced 1 of the boys to quit by requiring him to drive his own vehicle from terminal to terminal as part of his job as safety dept. officer and wanted him to stay in their bunkhouse instead of a motel room. The other brother was let go because his position was no longer needed. Most of the drivers that signed on have left. We were told nothing would change, HA!!! Avoid at all costs. see my poem in the poem catagory

Tanks for the heads up on Schilli I was talking to them as a possible company to sign on with but think I will just keep it parked until I find something with a more reputable outfit.

well, I've been here for a year now. By my calculations I've taken about a $22000 hit from last year and am still not sure on whether or not I am getting a vacation. The contract says that the driver has to turn 100,000 miles in a year to be eligible for vac. but they are not clear on if is loaded miles, dispatched, or driven.
Good Times, -
In other words, your vacation is really a bonus plan.
Not really a vacation package.
Most companies will pay you a vacation on 1 year of service and pay 1/52 of your prior years wage. -
friday is bonus day. every friday they bone us on our paychecks.
Ginger_bread_man Thanks this. -
update for schilli.
a driver for this company quit to go to work elswhere, returning his truck to the terminal that he had picked it up at. when he finally received his last paystub, there was no money, instead a letter explaining that they had kept his last 2 weeks pay for equipment recovery fees. talk about theivery. when i finally get out of here i am going to make them fax me a statement telling me where they want their piece of crap dumped off and make one of the idiots with authority sign it. CYA all the way. -
After careful consideration and a below poverty level paycheck, I decided to tell them to put a little lipstick on my Peepee. I Attempted to contact my dispatcher and Joe Kohler and recieved no response, I decided to call Big Tom Schilli himself. I now know where Kohler gets his habit of not returning phone calls. Returned equipment to Remington, IN, and now I'm waiting to see what other charges they will have to keep from paying money they owe me. Surprisingly, if you turn in detention, Joe will figure out a way to dismiss and write off each and every one of them. If you want to hear a really good story, you can call Tom Schilli himself at <phone number not allowed> or on his cell <phone number not allowed> and ask him what kind of company he runs. The company advertises on the back of their trailers .40 cpm, paid vacation, and 80% drop and hook; they neglect to tell you .40 (loaded), .27 (empty), vacation based on milage, not longevity, and minimal drop and hook. If you pick up the load, they want you to deliver it. final words; stay clear of Schilli or Wabash Valley Period!!!!!!!!!~!
