whay year did they

my 97 cat has a computer

 

I was assigned a 1993 Freightliner with cruise control.

 

detroit had ecm back in 90 not sure how long before that they came out

 

The Series 60 was the first production engine with an ECM.... maybe 1988?

 

I am pretty sure that '95 was the year that Cummins started using ECM's on the N-14. Could be '94. I know that all the '95 KW's bought by the carrier I was with at the time, came with ECM controlled Cummins N-14's. All of the previous trucks they had were mechanical engines. I never really had an issue with it. Some technology is better. It is the emissions junk I have had a problem with.
