There are rules wherever you work, yes. It is funny how the rules got tighter when the economy got tighter and they had more drivers to pick from. The industry is what it is. They keep raising the standards but compensate you less. I am not going to stick around and complain. I already have a new career started out side of trucking and I am never turning back. The industry has 1 less well qualified driver.

You're right. It sucks and makes zero sense for the driver to have to clean out the truck for a vacation...but to the company it's a little different. Some bright bulb has figured out what having idle trucks costs, and decided that the trucks need to keep moving, regardless of who's driving.

You know this isn't outside Marten's corporate M.O.

Can't you argue that? An ask for a load towards the house?

Asking does no good here at Marten.
They do what they want, when they want, to whom they want. Since they did away with the garunteed home time, alot of drivers don't get home on time any more.

And when they ask you to do something and you say no, They try to throw the guilt trip in your face.
Well Driver, your not being a team Player. Team Player, let's talk about who's not being a team member.

Just returned from a weeks vacation. I had left my truck at the yard so they could do pm service. I get back and find out that they had loaned my truck to another driver to run a 1000 mile trip. Well, now my seat is messed up, the back rest is broke, some of my stuff was moved around, and he was sleeping in my bed. And now dispatch is saying that they don't show me in the truck, and can't dispatch me. ( I am logged in to the QC) Been sitting for 3 hrs now waiting. Advice- Take truck home with you.:biggrin_25513:

Yeah, I don't really understand how they can boast about "No Slip-seating!" in their recruiting sheets when it's soooo ###### easy to have your truck yanked.

Also: just got into a customer for a D&H delivery, only to find out the customer is live unload only...and my appointment isn't for another 4 hours. Thanks, Customer Service! Your data entry error just totally hosed my day!

What Term are you out of. I find it hard to beleive they don't have any 'open' trucks they could of let the other person do.
If that happened to me, i would PISSED. They told me no slip seating 5.5 years ago.
Would like to know what happensd with this. And my suggestion, call Lyle in Ops and wage a complaint.

I had a load I picked up in Ohio on Friday, with a del appoinment for 2200 Sat. I get to the rec. It turned into d/h. Had i known this sooner, i could of started my reset sooner and got a load going to Cen Cali instead of So. Cal.

Yup Marten has the finest C/S dept. NOT!

    Gentlemen and Women,
I am pleased to inform you all that Marten Transport is no longer my ungrateful employer. After putting up with their complete lack of respect, response, concern or leadership for the last several months, I've told them, "No mas". I bid all of you a fond farewell. I hope you all receive fair compensation for the effort, hours, labor and safe operations you perform on a daily basis. My hopes are that it is legal, well planned and all efforts of due diligence have been performed to help you maximize your incomes.
That is what I hope. However, knowing who it is that you work for, I have some serious doubts! Safe travels to all of you! You are the back bone of this country and you deserve better!!!!!!
