I've got not so great credit. Been working on it the past few years...so its probably better than i think. Within the past 6 mo. i joined a credit union. I sent in a credit ap online to a dealership in Grand Rapids, but never heard anything. So i'm guessing, since they cant sell a truck, they aren't going to bother responding to me.

I am NOT going to lease a truck from the company for 9 months, just to get into an 'outright purchase' truck (which even THOSE are over priced)...i want to get my own truck 3rd party and THEN lease it on.

any suggestions for dealerships who would work with you?

    Auctions, such as Truckcenter.com

My credit is so bad but still got a truck. Also depends how much cash you can put down, but if you can pay it in full (Which I did) then they will give you truck with no problems.

If you have anything out there that you haven't paid up in the past, did you clear it up? If you did, that goes a long way to fixing your FICO. Although, I would rather put down at least 50% of the purchase price, as it makes any lender breathe a little easier in giving you the loan.

Call them and see what they have to say. Better than guessing. If they won't give you an answer why(assuming you've been turned down) tell them when your credit has improved you won't be back.

Save some money and then go into a truck dealer and sit down and talk to them. Let them tell you about whether or not your credit is bad enough for you not to get a truck and go from there. Get some money in your hands so that you have a better negotiation tool.
