Yeah I was going to say I know of people that have one in CA and its not good for any other states and no other states are good in CA.
-
Only your second post and you're wrong...
-
I also believe it is no more then 10 rounds of ammo in a rifle not a pistol now dont quote me on that. I am positive about the CA CCW permits though.
-
You are positively (and dangerously) wrong...CA will not allow any pistols or rifles that hold more than 10 rounds (at least not without proper registration, which IS NOT easy to get in CA)
And CA does not honor out of state CCW permits...not a single one.
People should be more careful about posting this stuff...it could land somebody in jail.outerspacehillbilly and Ken Thank this. -
Its the law in Kennesaw
. Since 1985, city ordinance required all homeowners to own a firearm. Our property crime took a serious decline and has stayed that way ever since. Know the laws, carry responsibly, act respectfully, and you should have no problems. Key fact in Deadly force. Ability, opportunity, and jeopardy. The scrot must have the ability to cause you death or serious bodily harm, have the opportunity to use that ability, and place you in immediate jeopardy of being killed or seriously wounded. Also, deadly force may only be used in the defense of one's self or others NOT PROPERTY!!! Peace, Love, and Happiness

Very True. Did you happen to discuss Kennesaw GA?
-
Kennesaw is not the only town like that...there are several others scattered around.

I haven't made it through all 100 pages of posts, but figured I'd chime in.
A Utah permit gives you 33 states that you can carry in and most of them are larger ones. A Florida permit gives you nearly as many. You still wouldn't have Kansas or Nevada, as I recall, but it would cover most of the bigger midwest and western states.
No permit required at all in Alaska or Vermont (included in the 33 number above).
Most states have a "Utah instructor" that is pretty easy to find. You can get the class and the permit for probably around $120 or so.
There is a federal law that allows you to transport firearms across state lines in all of the 50 states. As drivers, that's about what we're doing.
There are some quirky laws. In Cali you can only have 10 round magazines or smaller. In a few states there are local firearm laws that are not preempted by state laws.
Learn the state laws that you're regularly traveling in, get a Utah or Florida permit, and don't be public about the fact that you're carrying.Last edited by a moderator: Oct 3, 2010

Tennessee permits are accepted in 35 states...
The states below have written reciprocity agreements with TN...
Alaska
Arizona
Arkansas
Florida
Georgia
Kentucky
Louisiana
Michigan
Mississippi
New Hampshire
North Carolina
Ohio
Pennsylvania
South Carolina
South Dakota
Texas
Virginia
West Virginia
Wyoming
The states below don't have written agreements...but do honor TN permits
Alabama
Colorado
Delaware
Idaho
Indiana
Kansas
Minnesota
Missouri
Montana
Nebraska
Nevada
New Mexico
North Dakota
Oklahoma
Utah
Vermont
Some states DO NOT honor "non resident permits" from any state (meaning, a person who does not live in the state that issued the permit)...don't overlook this fact. I would list the states that are like this...but, to be honest, I forget which states it is...WY is one of them I believe, but I'm not sure...it doesn't apply to me so it has slipped from my memory.
All data above is guaranteed accurate at the time of posting (things do change regularly)... http://www.tennessee.gov/safety/handgun/reciprocity.htmLast edited: Aug 20, 2010
