I just completed Roehl's Orientation last week. I can't comment on what expenses are covered through Roehl's School, but I would definitely recommend attending it if you can. I attended a school here in Georgia (not RTDC), and while they were good, I really believe I would have been better off going to Marshfield. (I actually didn't know Roehl existed until I pulled their application from the bottom of the pile at the school) I have had the opportunity to meet some of Roehl's instructors and even had one of them work with me for about an hour and he fixed all of my problems in that very short period of time.

If you definitely want to go with Roehl Transport then I would attend their school. They will train you the way Roehl expects you to drive, and their instructors are top notch.

I can tell you that Roehl accepts graduates from SAGE schools. However, you have to be enrolled in their Orientation within 60 days from your driving school graduation date. Schneider has the same restriction which is who I ended up going with, and I think TransAm is even more restrictive at 30 days.

Congratulations! Just took my DOT physical today. Passed it and now just waiting to receive paperwork prior to starting school on 09/13. Really looking forward to attending the school. I have heard so much good stuff about it.

Well, I'm back in the terminal again... Been trying to get the truck in here to get a pc on it and find out what the deal is with it. Get here last night there are no bunk rooms so I sleep in the truck. 7 AM mechanic is unlocking the door and startled the crap out of me... lol sees me says oops didn't know you were in here. He asks me to pull it around to an open bay. Park it and as I'm getting out another guy pulls up behind me and beeps at me. Gives me crap about moving and I just told him "ask me nicely and I'll move." I was only parked where the original guy told me too park.
Funny thing this morning is that they had sent me a pre-plan. Do they not remember the reason I'm here in Marshfield? lol
    So here I sit... lol
I'm not complaining, but what a way to start things out... Wish they would just give me my flatbed truck since I'm only in this volvo till I'm done with Evo 3... I'm just saying... lol
Hopefully we can get this thing taken care of an I can finish out my Evo 3 with some good miles! Miles have not been high since I spent a bunch of time on the side of the road or at a terminal broke down... almost 3000 in about 10 days with breakdown time... Not good, but it seems that if I weren't broke down I'd be running 2000 to 2500 a week.

Good luck getting fixed. I hope they can figure out what is wrong. I have been stuck in Rome New York for the last 24 hours, just holding down the pavement around me.

I like your attitude, hindsy...very inspiring for a newbie such as myself. Tentatively scheduled for school on 9/13 in Marshfield. How much time do you have left on Evo III? Best of luck to you!

Well they say it is 15 lloads minimum for evo 3. At least that many and the last 4 have to go without a hitch. remembering things and making on time.
    :biggrin_2558:

So the truck has some major work ahead of it. It is currently sitting in the shop with the turbo off. I guess the turbo is bad... I get ready to go to lunch they say its the EGR valve. Ok they said around 3 or 4 it will be ready. Cool... not bad I'm thinking... I go eat lunch and come back in good spirit thinking 5 hours at the most and I'll be ready to roll... WRONG....:biggrin_25513:
Not only is the EGR valve bad, but... you guessed it... the turbo as well. Problem- no parts here have to order... and I quote "no idea of time parts will be here" lol just a little... So 5-7 hours from time the parts arrive I may have a truck to drive. Hopefully they get here early and it is taken care of... then I can get out on the road and catch a nice length load somewhere! I'm maintaining a good attitude, tho I did ask why I couldn't just get into a flatbed truck since I'm going there anyhow... Said they don't do that... I know they do... Wiseguy? You have a flatbed truck? Correct? You didn't do load securement yet did you?
So there you are I sit here in Marshfield waiting once again... lol Its ok tho... this stuff happens now and then. I just hope this thing runs like a raped ape while I'm out there. I plan to stay out till the 3rd of September and go back out after Labor Day. I should have my 15 loads by then... Got 6 or 7 in right now...

If you are in Marshfield go check at fleet farm, they might have them.
