Start classes Monday at Dalys and looking to apply at Roehls. Things still going well for you there? On your own at this point? I'm very thankful for all your post as this is truly a tough decision.

Hey Tarzan, which school in GA. I'm in Kennesaw and start Dalys School on Monday. Just finished talking to Roehl recruiter yesterday to start the process with them. Their school is now booked over three weeks out is the only reason I didn't go with them for class as well.

Sorry to hear about all your mechanical problems. Been a mediocre last few days here. A lot of back roads and long waits to get loaded/unloaded have cut into the miles department.
-
will have to stop there tomorrow. bid low on one on ebay, tho you know how that is sometimes...
-
sorry bout your miles too. tho you were banging out an impressive couple weeks there weren't ya?
-
Get used to it as Roehl continues to lose quality freight. More loads will be live loads and broker loads. Alot of very heavy paper loads also.

I got mine from a Walmart for $88 with the power supply, much better deal than the gander mountain by my place where they wanted $180 for the cooler and power supply separate.
Nope, no flatbed truck. My FM is having be do 8 loads van then head to Marshfield for load securement and my flatbed truck. Then do the rest as flatbed. Technically I've done 11 loads at this point, 5 of them less than 120 miles round trip, but still.....thats 11 separate loads that I'm getting paid for.
Hopefully they got things figured out for you tho today as you hoped. I'll shoot you a text later to find out. -
good luck with the van loads, they are big fun.

Well Truck is fixed and runs NICE!!!! Well at least it did for the 63 mile relay I just dropped at a Wally DC... I'm trying my best to maintain a positive attitude. Though it does seem hard at times. There is just soooo much sooo many things going on and I'm sure this type of stuff happens everywhere, but when you are here to make money and get stuck at the terminal for over 3 days it SUCKS!!! lol Here is where the system is flawed... the FM or dispatcher only gets notice of availability of the truck which leaves a guy that has been under the wrench or stuck at a consignee or anywhere for that matter sitting with no one noticing. programming needs to be used that could fix this issue. I'm sure there is a way to flag a driver like this. It would lessin the overall upset driver knowing that there is notification of this and also let the driver know that the FM's on the night/wekend shift will know this driver hasn't moved in some time...
Here is the reason I've come to this conclusion. I went into MArshfield on Wed to get the truck checked out as you all know. In the end they did not get to it till Thursday, the parts were ordered and came in the afternoon on Friday. So from about 7 PM Wed. till today at 1430 I had the big "00" for almost 48 hours. Then Friday when my truck was done they preplan me with a relay... 63 miles! One problem and I will mention this to my FM Monday was that his he left a voice mail for me on my phone that made it sound like this preplan was urgent and never mentioned how I had all day to take care of it. I was sitting in the driver's lounge and don't know why he did not call me up there... 2 phones... lol Thats not a big deal, but I just hate wasting my minutes since anytime I call the driverline from my phone it seems to take 20 minutes to get to talk to anyone. (thats typical tho)
Not sure what time it got there, think it was earlier than it said, because the guy never took it thru the fuel island to get looked at and I was sitting in my truck when the driver supposedly brought it in. Then to top it off the other driver writes the wrong info on the paperwork. Wrong tr# right Disp#. He put the paperwork in, but didn't get the tr checked. I did my pretrip and all was cool for my big run. To make things a little worse my birthday is today so I'm missin home a little more than normal. So, now here I sit, at the T/S near my big run delivery spot waiting for a new preplan. Hope I wake up if the dumb QC goes off. I am enjoying the airconditioning at the moment... lol
I hope it gets better. I'm gonna sit back and enjoy listening to the Nascar Race...PCDoctor Thanks this. -
Happy Birthday HINDSY! May next week be much improved for you!
I'm waiting for a call from my Schneider Training Engineer so we can meet up this week and start rolling for the next 2 weeks of road training. I asked for a week off after our week of classroom orientation and road skills assessment so I could spend some time with the family before heading out for 2 weeks. Was surprised to get a call within a few days from Schneider corporate telling me my request was approved and we'll see you on the 23rd. WOW! I was impressed.
