Who told you they have good lanes? A recruiter? They lost Walmart, Home Depot, Ikea and others. I drive on the roads I know where lanes that I drove when with them and I can count on one hand the number of trucks I see. We recently were out for 5 weeks and only saw 1 refeer out there. Why are you not with them if you think they are good?

been a while since i posted, i went to school for roehl in april, hired in may. went out with the trainers and been out on my own for about 7 weeks or so. its been really good so far, they always have a load for me. usually i get my preplan when i get to the consignee. i have been getting alot of miles, loving it. i am going to have to do a reset, but the last 7 days i have about 3000 miles. last check i had about 3400. well last check actually was 72 bucks but that doesnt count , i was home . which is another thing, my mother in law got sick, they didnt even make me ask they routed me back to wisconsin from massachusets and gave me 5 days hometime to stay with my wife.

i really am having a tough time with being away, but im really enjoying the job and the company has been great for me so far.

They have not lost Home Depot as I have carried loads to Pittsburgh a couple of weeks ago and taking one to Houston tomorrow. Can't speak for the others you listed although I have not been to a Wal-Mart DC recently.

I'm still waiting to get into a class at my local tech. I have been researching companies though. My neighbor drove for Roehl a few years ago and loved it. I was thinking about applying then found this site and started reading about how much they've changed. Can anyone list specific changes? I would think that there wouldn't be a huge difference between the major companies. Besides I have nothing to compare to. Just wondering if things changed enough to make people quit.

How much per mile? Do you call your wife everyday and send flowers?
Truckers are supposed to do that you know...call your wife everyday and send flowers.

Roehl still has loads going to and from Home Depot, and Walmart. there not a dedicated account like our sams club, and lowes account, but they seem to be still running through them .

I drove for them a big 6 weeks! When it took over three hours to get a measly $25 com check to cover a toll and fuel antigel it showed micro management to the hilt. I sat one morning waiting for the rig for 5 hours at a drop yard in the dead of winter, no call from them upon ETA of the rig, my DSR not returning my calls, no support on weekends not good.
Best was a I was told to o to a drop yard in TX, guess what in TX they have two towns with the same name! Of course I chose the closest one thinking they knew where I was, WRONG! Oh well in orientation they said they had a 160% turnover rate it kind of summed it up.
Hopefully much has changed as no driver needs people afraid to make calls on thier own to support the driver, the communication lag is a real killer of resources.

I enjoyed the qualcom warning "you have overreved 3 times today" I called my DSR and said I was shutting down. Why he said very excitedly, I said well I just got a qualcom warning of 3 overrevs and I guess I'll need to park to prevent that, hu what do you mean, he said. You know where I am at, check the weather, I,ve broke traction 3 times on this crap! Options for ya, send a salt truck, I park the rig or you stop nagging me! Oh we didn't know was his answer. grrr

i remember my 2006 Columbia would give me overreved messages when i was just about to stop... i would already be in 2nd gear and just crawling to the stop. some others told me that they got the same problem. Neither, Gary, Marshfield, Ellenwood, nor the others were able to fix it, or give me a reasonable explination.

i am glad to hear that they still run Wal-Mart, HomeDepot, etc... I was wondering because on the i-80 and around from WNY to MI, I have seen as many Roehl's as I normally would... and on the i-86 from Jamestown to Binghamton I have seen more than I normally would.
